VAE has always had really thought provoking works and displays. The staff are kind and engaging. Their Queer Home project a few years ago will probably always be my favorite. It created so many conversations with different people that hold a variety of identities. Their new space is small, but beautiful!
What a super cool spot! I went as a part of First Fridays and was blown away by the cool contemporary art. A lot of the pieces really spoke to me and they were very unique. I love that the collections change in and out and I can't wait to go back!
VAE is quite the unique place to visit in Downtown Raleigh if you want to check out any kind of art installations. They have different artist's installations and works put out every month for an entire month and they usually are amazing. VAE also plays host venue to Tongue And Groove Open mic on second Sundays of every month which is mostly a poetry open mic but you're welcome to do anything else except comedy and sermons.
Such a great support for artists. Whether it is your first exhibition or you are an seasoned artist they help you to the next level. Plus their staff makes me smile.
Went here for first friday in April, was pretty nice! Enjoyed the art work there.
