This place is great, a salvation for folks who might have have to resources to get their pets cared for at other facilities. You have to show up early, (before 7am, Tuesday-Saturday,) to get on the sign-up list. They only serve the first 50 people that sign up each day. Be prepared to wait up to 5 hours. But Dr. Joey his staff are doing great work, and are a true asset to this community. I am currently underemployed, and when I took my cat to the vet, they quoted more than $1500 to have a growth removed. I simply could not afford that. I heard about NFAH from a friend, and they were able to perform the surgery (with biopsy and removal of stitches weeks later) for about half as much. I am grateful that this place and these people are here, working hard with compassion, week after week and year after year. Thank you Dr. Joey and all the folks at NFAH!

This place has their own system of seeing the first 50 animals in line, starting a sign in sheet at 730am. I went one time before and was too late, arriving at 7, so the next time I was there by 630 and was seen after 2 1/2 hours, which wasn't a bad time to wait. I had to return at 430 to pick up my cat. Had a voucher for a spay surgery, which was honored, and I had to get my cat vaccinations in order to get the spay surgery, so I paid $128 in total.

I want to take a moment to thank Dr. Vasquez and the team for the care and compassion they gave to my cat during her spay surgery. Unfortunately, we lost her due to a severe and undetected diaphragmatic hernia, but I am truly grateful for the time and effort Dr. put in to try and save her. He not only performed the surgery but stayed with her through the night, doing everything he could—including resuscitation and emergency support—trying to give her a chance. His dedication and heart did not go unnoticed. Even in the hardest moments, I could feel that he truly cared. Losing her has been incredibly painful, but I have peace knowing she was in good hands and surrounded by people who tried their best. Thank you, Dr, Vasquez for treating her with compassion, and for your honesty and care. It means the world to me. Sincerely, Susana garcia

How dare you make appointments for customers when you are closed for the holidays? I have been coming to this clinic for years it has gone down hill. No one ever answers phones, the staff is rude, it's just a money grab as they appear to be the only affordable vet on the East Side. It's 6am I wasted $25 on a Lyft and my cats still won't be spayed and neutered. It's really challenging to even get a vet on the phone as they almost never list prices it's hours wasted on the phone. Don't bother with this unprofessional disrespectful business.

Really kind people. During the pandemic they operate under different hours so you’ll have to call. We got there around 7:30 am to put our name on the list as they’re only seeing the first 50 patients at this time. They’ve put tents and chairs out in the parking lot for all those waiting, which is really nice since you could be waiting awhile. Happy this place exists for the community.
