Northeast is a great place to come if you are new to the area and don’t know anyone. They do a lot of community events and you meet a lot of friendly people around the neighborhood. It’s also a great place to come if you are new to working out or have old injuries and are unsure of what to do. The instructions are approachable and work with you. They will also push you when you need to be pushed and help you find alternate moves if you can’t do something. No judgement; just good health and good fun!
I joined Northeast Fitness about a year ago and I absolutely love it! I have arthritis and have since I was a teenager; as a result, I often need modifications and that can make group workouts difficult. But not at NE Fitness! Whether I’m doing Pilates, spin, or strength training, the instructors have plenty of modifications, and no one looks at you sideways for needing them. The community has been so welcoming and empowering that I actually look forward to workouts now. If you are looking for a very accepting and community-minded place for group workouts, then Northeast Fitness is for you.
I love my time with NE fitness! The whole team is so welcoming and make it easy to join in any type of class. The workouts are challenging but fun and the vibes are always high! I especially love my Mondays with Liz, Wednesdays with Taylor, and the Saturday morning crew.
I've always been super uncomfortable in gym situations but Northeast Fitness is a wonderful exception. Every instructor is warm, supportive, and encouraging of beginners. Even though I've only been going to classes a few times a week for 6 weeks, the instructors I see regularly know me and make me feel like a part of the community. The other patrons are also really welcoming and it never feels in any way competitive or like a "scene" -- just motivating and communal! Don't get me wrong, the workouts are always challenging, just in a fun way. :) I never thought I'd get a gym membership but here we are. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a laid back environment to get a great workout in North MPLS! Thanks Northeast Fitness!!
A very welcoming gym, great for lifting. The open gym is perfect and has everything you need to get a good pump in. The classes are also great, and not your typical classes. These classes are very lifting focused and will help you get gains! Great gym for beginners to gym rats
