Alex was amazing to have as Scoobys trainer!! He was easily reachable, super understanding and gave report cards everyday. Any questions or concerns I had he answered right away. At first I was nervous to send Scooby away for two weeks just because he is a big dog and still a puppy but as the days went on I knew he had the best interest for Scooby. Seeing Scooby enjoying his time and being so happy in the videos made me immediately comfortable and willing to trust Alex with my baby. He also gave lots of pictures and videos which was AMAZING!! During the reunion with Scooby, he was super informative and made sure to answer any questions I had or concerns. You can tell he truly cares about the work he does and all the dogs he handles. He pushed Scoobys boundaries in a good way and respected when Scooby didn’t like something. I loved all the stories I heard about Scooby and can tell he enjoyed his time there immediately seeing him. I can’t wait to see all the new things Scoobys learned also definitely worth the price !!!
My training goal with Ocho was for him to be off-leash in rural areas, which meant excellent recall from hundreds of yards away, even when distracted by squirrels, rabbits, deer, etc. I was concerned this would happen, since my understanding was that the OLK9 training is mostly on leash due to liability issues. My concerns were misplaced. Laurie did a great job! After his two-week training, it took just a couple of weeks for me to learn how to work with him and Ocho was ready to be off-leash. Every day we walk 4-5 miles and I only put him on leash as a safety precaution when we are near a road. He is also really good at all the commands, including leash walking without pulling. I loved the daily report cards and videos. I would recommend Laurie and this program to anyone.
Three years ago, I enrolled my dog in the board & train program with Alex. The program was the jumpstart we needed to get him on the path to success! When I brought my dog, Oso, to Off Leash K9 he was very reactive. Uncontrollable barking, lunging, and nipping at people and other dogs. Today, I feel confident walking my dog knowing that he is looking to me for instruction instead of reacting impulsively. The entire Off Leash K9 team continues to stay in touch and be a great resource for us! If you’re reading this because you’re considering training for your dog, these guys are the real deal. If you commit to the process, you will see results!
Very good experience with OLK9 and my trainer Madeline. They were very informative on the front end and accommodating. I was able to send treats and items from home so my puppy wouldn't be homesick. They took wvery good care of her as well as trained her well. I received daily updates that included instructions, videos, and pictures of how the day went. The update include what was eaten and what the output was as well as weight in the beginning and at the end. When the 2 weeks were over Madeline sat down with me and taught me what was done for training and then allowed me to reurn demonstrate what I had learned and experience what Poppy had learned over the 2 weeks. Once everything was done I was encouraged to reach out with any questions or problems. Thank you for a job well done Madeline!
If you are thinking about training for your dog Off Leash K9 is definitely the place to go. We sent our 6 month old Husky for training with Alex and before training there was very little she would listen to. During training we received a report card EVERY night by email with pictures and videos of that days training. That was really nice to see every evening. At the end of training we received a email with detailed information how to continue training and it also had videos to show examples of each command. Alex also made it clear that he is always here if we need any help or have questions. Alex gave me the confidence I was lacking to continue training properly. I am extremely impressed with Alex and his training skills. They also have pack get togethers that we will be joining in the future. I'm very happy that we sent our girl to Alex at Off Leash K9 for training.
