The server was a vet!! Very attentive to drinks, and interacted with us very well, and it was my brother who passed away in Aug. 2025 favorite place to whine down, music selections were great plus it was my 47th birthday!!!
Picture this: An Okie Wise guy like the Tulsa King has lunch at Old Chicago in Wichita. The moment the thin crust Pepperoni pizza pie hit the table, my taste buds sang like a Sinatra ballad at a Tulsa wedding and it was as crispy as Nonna’s attitude, and pepperoni placed with the precision of a pickup truck doing donuts in a wheat field. The experience was truly, a flavor that travels Route 66 straight to the old country and back with a little bit of Kansas dust in its tread. As for the Caesar salad, it’s so loaded with flavor and parmesan it could have been made by a mob boss who heard salad dressing was a front for ‘romaine laundering.’ If there’s any anchovy in there, it’s hiding deeper than a bootlegger’s whiskey barrel, made man respect! And don’t sleep on the mozzarella sticks which were so stretchy and golden you could jump rope with one while telling stories about Uncle Vinny’s last tornado chase. Dunk ‘em in the sauce and you’ll be saying, ‘Mamma mia, that’s amore—Oklahoma style!’. All in all, Old Chicago is where you take the family for pizza, pints, and to witness a Mafiosso turf war between Italian flavor and Okie hospitality in Kansas with the mozzarella sticks running protection and shaking down the patrons. Bring your appetite and leave with a smile (and maybe a new cousin or two).”
We wanted to get a late night snack and we were thinking Alejandro's but we wanted to dine in somewhere and the lobby was closed. So we had few options and we went with Old Chicago East. It's always been a nostalgic place for me as that's when my foodie heart fell in love with going out to eat. We went with the make your own calzone and chose meatballs and pepperoni to stuff it with. We both enjoyed it alot, there was a colossal amount of molten cheese and the meatballs were super tasty. We also had a really good server but that's not surprising, OC has always had great food and service for sure. Hey, I'd just like to add, I have a new found faith after visiting Old Chicago. I used to avoid chain restaurants but after visiting this place, I think I'll try out more chains in the future.
First time there. Got a pepperoni pizza, a chicken bacon ranch and mozzarella sticks. Everything was very good. It didn't take long to get food and our waitress was very nice. Will be going back.
My husband and I went to OC for dinner during happy hour. We were seated in booth closest to the hostess stand. Everyone was professional and helpful. Our waitress was super sweet and attentive. The pizza rolls are one of my favorites. You can't go wrong with pizza rolls, and for $8.00 during happy hour, that's even better. My husband got the two topping individual pizza for 6.00. We did share some wings that were super delicious.
