Emanuel did a great job repairing a broken leg on our special master end table - he first tried to just glue it and when it did not hold I brought it back and he did a more secure dole repair all at an excellent reasonable cost.

Emanuel got my antiques sorted in no time and in a very professional way. While at his beautiful shop on Dundas, I also grabbed a couple of Records on my way out. Great selection!

My antique drum table required two legs that had come loose from the base to be fixed. I paid $400 and was told the legs were now secure and a permanent fix. Less than 2 years later, I had the same issue again. When I inspected the legs that were fixed, they were covered in glue - that was the fix, gluing the legs to the base. I reached out to Emanuelle in Sept 2025, and while he responded to my initial email, I never heard from him again. I ended up finding another restorer who did it correctly - replacing the wooden dowels. It cost me another $400 because of the amount of glue applied that had to be removed.

I had 6 dining room chairs from the 1920’s reupholstered with new cushions. I’m very happy with the quality of work and would recommend Old Fashioned Restoration.

Emanuel restored a delicate and complex Biedermeier wood veneer on my custom-made vintage coffee table. The veneer had been sanded through in places and was covered with stains, burn marks, and scratches. Many people told me to throw it away, saying the veneer was beyond saving. This piece is deeply sentimental to me, and throwing it away was never an option. When I brought it to Emanuel, he assured me he would “make it beautiful again,” and he did exactly that. This was not an easy project by any means, but his skill, dedication, and attention to detail are exceptional. He treats every piece as if it were his own. Emanuel is a true artist, and I’m so grateful for the care and craftsmanship he put into restoring my table. I would trust him with any piece.
