Amanda has been great with helping me to train my puppy Border Terrier, Thor. Helping with greeting people and dogs has been fantastic still a work in progress but so much better with the tips from Amanda. Walking to heel, never thought that would happen but Thor was doing this after just 1 session. On our last session we walked in the park with Thor mostly off lead again never believed that I would be able to do this. Amanda has given Thor and me the confidence to continue with our training and I know that she is there in the future if I need help. Would throughly recommend especially if you have a puppy, I have had dogs before but learnt so much in the 7 sessions with Amanda.
The impact Claire had was significant, even after the first session. The tailored training, starting at home and progressing to the park, has been great for Griffin. The positive approach has been effective and Griffin really enjoys the sessions. I highly recommend Our Love For Dogs, especially for puppy owners. With Claire’s help, we now understand our pup better and he understands us better too, resulting in a happier and better-behaved pup.
We found Claire at Our Love For Dogs through a request on a local FB page for recommendations of a dog trainer. Amongst the "Good luck with that, paid a fortune for a trainer and it's not helped" there was a recommendation for Claire. We had decided we needed a trainer for our 13 month old Australian Service Dog Gabriel after it had taken my OH 90 minutes to put his lead back on him after a play at the park. There were a few other issues, not walking to heel, he'd managed to pull both of us over whilst on his lead and we could only walk him on a figure of eight lead which he hated and we didn't like using either. My OH really wasn't on board as he felt he could cope with Gabriel's "naughtiness" but I dreaded taking him out and wouldn't let him off his lead to play. If I'm honest I also doubted 8 hours would be enough to make much difference to our puppy's behaviour. Claire has been a Godsend. Right from the first session she has had Gabriel quite literally eating out of her hand. Our circumstances are a bit unique in that we live on a narrowboat travelling constantly. We don't always have access to a suitable or safe environment to train our dog. Claire took all this on board (no pun intended) and came up with ways around certain issues. The difference in Gabriel after just one hours training with Claire was amazing. For the first time I had the confidence to let him off to run in the park wearing a training lead and he would come back to me if I called him. Again after one session spent on heel training he will now walk to heel pretty much all the time. As we were only staying in Birmingham for 5 weeks Claire has had to sometimes visit us twice in one week. This has meant we have not had a week to work on Gabriel in between her visits but the improvement is immense and I feel that she has equipped us with everything we need to go forward with his training. Claire has been an absolute delight, cheerful and positive. Gabriel loves her and is beside himself when she comes for his lessons and wants to follow her when she leaves. I know he would cheerfully recommend her and we would too!
I can’t thank Claire enough for all the support and guidance she’s given. Archie’s behaviour has really improved and he loved working with Claire, as did I. Training focused on positive reinforcement of Archie’s behaviour and was always relevant to what I wanted to work on. We worked on training in the house, garden and used local parks to introduce new environments and stimulus. Claire would check in with us throughout the week as to how training was going and provided pictures and videos to support us. I would fully recommend Claire and For the Love of Dogs training.
We had Lola at 7 wks old at the end of December, she turned out to be really naughty and aggressive, we thought a few times we'd have to get rid, but we didn't want to give up. I contacted Love For Dogs and was given a date, so started her training end of may. Since Simon has been training Lola, she has turned into a different dog all together. She is obedient and very friendly to us and everyone else. We couldn't have done this without the support from Simon. They are brilliant at what they do and I definitely recommend them to any one that is thinking about getting there dog trained. Don't give up as we never and the results are well worth the money and patience. 5 star service all around. Thank you very much OUR LOVE FOR DOGS
