As a Pacific Dance Arts alumni (2018-2023) and now professional ballet dancer, I cannot recommend this school enough to young dancers aspiring to break into the professional scene OR simply to enjoy learning the artform. I received the best mentorship and training I could have asked for at PDA. All my teachers supported me and challenged me to grow as an artist. The teachers really take the time to understand what each student needs and always gives personalized feedback and corrections. The studio really is a big family, and everyone (faculty and students) is always so supportive. I joined the school at age 17 and trained and danced at PDA for 5 years, and got so much performance experience in that time. With multiple school performances a year as well as being included in the schools Coastal City Ballet full length story ballet productions. I also took solos to competitions during my time with the school and had private lessons with the teachers to prepare, and was a very enjoyable process and experience. The teachers also provided mentorship throughout my audition process, helped me be prepared for company life, for living and dancing abroad, and were always there for moral support when sometimes auditions didn't pan out the way I hoped. Support I am so very thankful I had. It is truly so valuable having teachers who know the industry and the ins and outs of professional dancer life. Bottom line…At PDA you receive excellent classical/character/contemporary/pas de deux training in a safe encouraging environment that values you as an individual and will help propel you into a professional career.

The community is welcoming and inspiring, making it a place where dancers can truly grow both technically and artistically.

As someone who trained at Pacific DanceArts for three years, I can confidently say it’s an exceptional studio. The instructors are not only supportive and approachable but also incredibly experienced, providing some of the best guidance I’ve received since I started dancing at three years old. They have a real talent for shaping and improving a dancer’s skills. The care at this studio feels very genuine—it’s clear they want every dancer to succeed. With three shows a year, they provide ample opportunity for students to perform and gain experience. What really sets Pacific DanceArts apart is its strong focus on teaching repertoire, which is essential for anyone aspiring to have a professional dance career. School Director Andrea Allen is a very involved and accessible director, and it’s clear the students’ best interests are always the top priority—not just the bottom line.

I can't say enough great things about Pacific Dance Arts. My daughter danced at many studios in the lower mainland and she had an absolutely wonderful experience at PDA. The teacher are truly excellent, and there is an affiliated company that the most advanced students sometimes get to dance with and be inspired by. Serious, professional ballet training, and also amazingly supportive for the many wonderful dancers who decide to pursue academics after high school instead of a ballet career. They have multiple, high quality performances in theatres throughout the year, and the summer intensives are also fantastic. Your child will be well prepared for either a professional dance program, or for a lifelong love of dance. I can't recommend this wonderful school more highly.

Even though I only danced at Pacific DanceArts for 3 years, I truly found a second family there, and it holds such a special place in my heart. From the incredible teachers to the supportive environment, no one studio has impacted my dancing so drastically in such a positive way. Pacific DanceArts offers so many performance opportunities to its students so that they can really start to discover their artistry, while still giving impeccable technical training.
