A Total Gem for GF & Vegan Foodies! My husband and I stopped at Paleo Mama Bakery on a whim while passing through Madison, and it was easily the highlight of our trip. As someone with a gluten allergy who also prefers vegan options, I’m used to settling for "dry and crumbly"—but this place is a total game-changer. The Highlights: The Desserts: I tried several of the gluten-free/vegan treats, and "amazing" doesn't even cover it. My mouth was watering from the first bite. They managed to get that perfect sweetness and texture without any of the stuff that usually makes me feel sluggish. The Everything Bagels: These are a must-buy! They are incredibly flavorful, and despite being gluten-free, they have a buttery, rich quality that is so hard to find. I ended up grabbing a couple to go because they were just that good. The Vibe: The atmosphere is welcoming, and it’s such a relief to walk into a bakery where you don't have to stress about cross-contamination or limited options. Whether you have dietary restrictions or not, the food here is objectively delicious. Bottom line: If you’re in Madison, do yourself a favor and stop by. Your taste buds (and your stomach) will thank you!
I eat keto when possible, and Paleo Mama Bakery has amazing keto-friendly goods. They are as beautiful as baked goods from traditional bakeries, and they taste delicious! A lot of the time, I find keto-friendly frosted goods to be really heavy, but these are not as heavy as others I've tried. I've even gone out of my way to get a birthday cake from here (I live almost 150 miles away) because they are perfect for special occasions when people are eating low-carb/keto. I've attached a photo of a slice of the keto carrot cake, which was delicious!
Paleo Mama is my absolute MUST stop whenever I visit Madison! There aren't many bakeries out there that cater to keto diets so this spot is a rare gem in my book by catering to gluten-free, keto, paleo, and vegan diets. They have an amazing selection - and not just of their own items! They also sell packaged products from reputable brands such as ChocZero and Good Good just to name a couple for Keto examples. Their newer location is convenient (their own parking + outside seating) and so much bigger, which allowed for the selection and product expansion. I usually stock up on a bunch of goodies since I don't live in the area. What's good? I highly recommend the keto breakfast sandwich - really hits the spot. The coffee wasn't for me (I got a latte as a combo with the bfast sandwich - wouldn't get it again). I love the pies - peanut butter or cookie butter, and the truffle bombs. The selection rotates and most recently I enjoyed the white chocolate peppermint Christmas tree cake. Service is always sooo nice! My only request for future improvement is better coffee/espresso drinks :) and maybe some inside seating.
Great place with amazing gluten free options! In addition to being awesome for people with Celiac, there are dairy, vegan and dietary needs options which are all delicious. I always get party pies and cakes here, so reliably. The made to order breakfast sandwich is delicious!
I’m not a keto follower, however, decided to give it a try as I craved quality not grocery store pumpkin pie and chocolate cheesecake. The pumpkin cheesecake was absolutely delicious as well as the chocolate French silk cheesecake. I will definitely be back! The assortment is so large that is no one in Madison offers this and the quality you won’t find anywhere else within Madison boundaries. Highly recommend, the almond flower crust was very very good and I’d prefer almond flour now to regular flour because of this introduction. Very clean and organized space, it is apparent that everything is fresh, made with love and care. Disregard mean reviews. This is a small business and they work hard to be able to offer this assortment to Madisonians. Delivery and pick up available the same day.
