Really good cheesy bread. Breakfast sandwich was seriously good too
I was pleasantly surprised by the new Stella’s on Regent Street. Having only tried their famous spicy cheese bread at the farmers market, I was glad to find they offer much more than their signature loaf. When I heard they were opening, I wondered how they’d fit into the area, given their proximity to Indie Coffee and Leopold’s. Stella’s brings something distinct to the mix: a solid selection of fresh pastries (which neither Indie nor Leo’s offers, as far as I know), a sandwich menu, coffee and beverages, and a small market stocked with canned goods. The space itself is inviting, with a cozy indoor area fronted by large windows and an outdoor patio that doubles the seating. There are also two 15-minute parking spots available in back. The pastries were delicious. Looking forward to returning and trying their sandwiches and adding Stella’s into our weekend rotation!
Went to the new Stella’s bakery and Cafe. Should not be marketed as a “cafe”. I ordered a mocha (that cost $6) and was expecting an espresso drink. They poured it out of a machine as if it was a hospital waiting room. The mocha was terrible as was the $4 “drip” coffee (also from a machine). The empanada I ordered was good. The next day I went back just to buy bread. I ordered a 6 pack of minis Hot & Spicy cheese bread. Instead of offering me hot bread she gestured to the rack behind me and told me to grab it from there. Heated up the cold bread when I got home. So I basically just got spicy bread without the hot. The bread is good and a classic Madison eat, however I’m a little soured on my two recent experiences.
Enjoyed the new Stella’s cafe location. Had the turkey sandwich lunch special, with chips, soda, and added a pastry all for $21. Great lunch variety, had a variety of options for a great price. Will completely come back again.
Love the new Stella’s location! Got one of their new Italian sandwiches on the spicey cheese bread roll and it was the bomb. Outdoor space out back is spacious and great to chill and have a drink with friends while watching a game. Can’t recommend this place enough!
