The seating is very close-quarters. We were seated in the corner where the seating is built into the wall. This seating is very awkward because instead of facing each other my husband and I were facing two adjacent tables which made us feel like we were intruding on those tables a bit. The food was pretty good, I enjoyed their flavor pairings and I think they have some fun options. Folks with allergies and intolerances should be aware that not all primary ingredients in a dish are listed on the menu description. I ordered the crunchy wrap without the listed pickled onion because I cannot eat onion, however, much to my sadness when I started to eat I discovered that the inside of the wrap was filled with onion, so much so that I couldn't effectively remove the onion to avoid getting sick. This is my fault for not asking the server about any undisclosed onions however it is much appreciated when menus are up front with the primary contents of a dish. The creamy sauce it came with was tasty though and I liked the radish garnish too.

The first thing I would like to highlight is the excellent service provided by the staff and the pleasant atmosphere of the place. The tortilla soup was delicious, one of the best I’ve had, and the tropical ceviche was exquisite as well. Overall, it’s a place that leaves you wanting to come back.

Two years after my first visit - for a tasty weekend brunch - I returned to Palmeira for lunch on a chilly November weekday. Quiet at first, business picked up and the warmth of the staff and kitchen made for another excellent dining experience. Since it was cold out, I felt like soup. I couldn’t decide between chicken tortilla soup or the green pozlillo (pork posole), so I had a cup of each and they were delicious and hearty. The Palmeira smoothie with coconut milk, coconut water, mango, pineapple, and passion fruit was as good as I remembered it. All in all, the colorful decor, friendly vibes, and great tropical fusion Latin food make Palmeira one of my Top 5 favorite restaurants in Anchorage. I was told that business had been slower than usual because of the tough economy, so Anchoriginals please show Palmeira the love it deserves!

Palmeria Trpical Fusion truly fits their name! A hidden gem tucked away in the outskirts of downtown Anchorage. Thier attention to fresh ingredients and detail is what we love about their food. The service is top-notch and so friendly. We had nothing but positive experiences here. It's one of our favorite places in town 🤩

The food was very good and we were likely the only tourists in there. So we got the table by the window which got hot fast. Also no prompt service. Pretty crowded at 3 pm on a Sunday. I had the clam chowder and salad with shrimp. SO had the crunchy wrap, and friend had the seafood tostada. All the food was good.
