We just spent a magical couple of hours in this most incredible shop. Shop doesn’t feel like quite the right term, mind. Panoply is more of a museum, a cabinet of curiosities, a collection of the most surprising and delightful things. And Bill is the most engaging and knowledgeable host, having graciously guided us through 30 years of passionate collecting with incredible patience. A highlight of our trip!

Panoply: “Another Door Into Wonderland.” Panoply on Dupont isn't just a shop; it's a cabinet of curiosities—a delightfully unexpected rabbit hole right off the beaten path. I stumbled upon this treasure trove quite by accident after visiting a local art gallery, and honestly, the discovery was an exhibit in itself. If you believe that objects are whispers of history, then prepare to be hushed into awe. The items curated here are not merely antiques; they are vessels of time with stories so rich you can almost hear the echoes of their past owners. I was so utterly impressed by the collection that, given the chance, I’d gladly spend a full day just soaking it all in. The mind behind this wonderland is Bill, the owner and curator, whose passion is palpable and infectious. He’s been collecting these magnificent, often esoteric, treasures for years. Hearing his stories and the fascinating histories behind the items is an experience not to be missed. As Bill aptly puts it, visiting Panoply feels like finding that "another door into wonderland." What makes the collection truly unique is the unexpected depth of the curator’s own artistry. Bill's background includes a significant period in the stained glass business, and seeing some of his own breathtaking works adds another layer of intrigue. It’s impressive to see a collector who is also a masterful creator. Panoply on Dupont is a required stop for anyone who loves history, art, and the beautifully strange. It’s a place that tickles your brain and fills your imagination. Don't walk by it—walk into it.

The owner Bill is super friendly. He built the collections in store by himself. He helped answer questions during my visit. Knowing i couldn’t find the type of antique wallet I’m looking for he even introduced other antique stores. Really appreciate it. BlogTo has an article about the store and him. Definitely a fun store to check out!
