We cannot say enough great things about Makaya at Pawsitive Grooming. Our dog Hank is a big guy with a serious undercoat, and grooming him is no easy task—especially because he hates having his feet touched. Makaya handled Hank with so much patience, care, and genuine love. She took her time, paid close attention to his comfort, and somehow managed to work through his tricky undercoat and his foot sensitivity without rushing or stressing him out. That alone says everything about her skill and heart. Hank came home clean, comfortable, and clearly well cared for—not just groomed, but treated with kindness. If you have a large dog, a tough coat, or a pup with quirks (or all three!), Makaya is the person you want. Pawsitive Grooming has earned a lifelong customer in us. Highly, highly recommend. 🐾

The owner, Makayah Sargent, only groomed my poodle once. When I dropped off my dog, I requested that she use a fragrance-free shampoo and no treats. I picked up my dog, brought her home, and noticed a stinky smell like cheap perfume. The smell transferred to the throw blanket on my sofa and my sheets. I was up all night because the perfume smell was so strong. The next day, I texted Makayah and requested she rebathe my dog with our shampoo. When I brought my dog back, I asked her about it, and she stated her colleague may have sprayed perfume on another dog, which could have transferred to my dog. Two weeks later, when I bathed and blow-dried my dog, I noticed Makayah had not trimmed down my poodle's neck, which is standard practice for this breed. I texted her about it, and she replied that she was too busy to fix it, so I shaved it after watching a few poodle grooming videos. Also, I asked her about her AKC certification and where she taught grooming, and she texted, "I am AKC certified, have additional training through grooming expos, and was a grooming instructor for 7 years with a well-known company." I still don't know which AKC certification she achieved (I have reached out to AKC to follow up). I cannot recommend this particular groomer, especially for any poodle breeds.

I can’t say enough good things about Pawsitive Grooming! As a dog mom, it means so much to find a place that truly cares. The staff is always so kind and patient, and you can tell they genuinely love what they do. I actually mixed up my appointment day once, and they still went out of their way to take Pookie in — that kind of understanding and kindness really stuck with me. My pup always comes out looking adorable, smelling great, and most importantly, happy! It’s such a relief knowing he’s in good hands every time. I’m so thankful for the amazing team at Pawsitive Grooming — they’ve definitely earned a loyal customer!

I’m absolutely thrilled with the grooming service! Everything was perfect from start to finish. My dog looks amazing — clean, neat, and just adorable. The groomer was kind, professional, and very attentive to details. You can tell they really care about animals. I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!

Makayah is the best person you could take your pet to get groomed by. She has done my two dogs, and a few other dogs I know, and they all love her and going to the salon! The salon is clean and in a great location. She is a highly-skilled expert (the quality I received for a full groom on our cocker spaniel for a little over an hours work is top notch) but I can tell she is a real animal lover. She carefully listens to the pet owners, and I've even witnessed her finish grooming some difficult, large dogs with a smile on her face. Thank you Makayah!!
