Worst pho ga I've ever had. The broth and noodles were both very salty and lacked aromatics. I should have just paid for my meal and walked out, but I felt bad wasting food. Service is also lacking with people giving you attitude to go with your meal. This is my 2nd time here, with the first time trying their beef pho. It was also not flavorful and lacked the depth of true pho. What an embarrassment to the vietnamese community. Please do not think that your experience here is representative of what pho should taste like.
Eye round pho is immaculate. I moved across town and have tried every pho place around me, none of them even come close to this place. I used to order takeout every week the same order, all I had to say was “hello I’d like to place and order for Ashleigh” and the man at the front KNEW my order, he was the best. I haven’t had it in almost a year now and I think about their soup and dumplings everyday. I will be making a special trip soon just for their amazing soup. Nobody in Austin compares.
I have been to this restaurant many times. The food is usually good but not today though. The pho (combo) soup was a bit too salty. I was not too happy with the service today as both the waiter and waitress seemed have attitude or maybe had a bad mood today. The table we sat was not cleaned up well as there were a few small pieces of vegetables on the table from previous customers. The overall atmosphere was good. New printed menus this time which means the prices have gone up.
The beef pho was absolutely chef’s kiss — rich broth, tender slices, full of flavor. 10/10 without question. The fresh coconut juice tasted like it came straight off the tree — refreshingly sweet and nothing like the canned stuff. Another 10/10. As for the fruit jelly dessert, the flavor was light and not too sweet, which I appreciated, but the texture was a bit off for my taste — 5/10. Overall, a satisfying meal worth coming back for. Can’t wait to try more next time!
Tried something new. Stir Fry vermicelli. Thankfully I decided to taste first, usually I would straight pour the sauce in. Remember that this stir fry which makes it a little different. The food is acceptable. The stir fry vermicelli I had is a little sweet for taste bud. This is a nice bowl, a mix of veggies, wish there is a little more tofu. The downside, the lime is not fresh.
