Ordered the steak on a hot plate, was expecting steak on a hot plate but got some kind of soupy thing with a weird tasting sauce. I love eating at Vietnamese restaurants and I don't know why I had such a terrible experience here. I came here with my husband and only because the place we usually go that is across the street was so busy we had to wait probably 20-30 mins and my husband did not want to wait. My husband tried my entree too and he also was not impressed. He ordered me something else because he felt bad and we got the BBQ chicken and broken rice (my other favorite dish). It was not that great either. Maybe because I eat at Pho Point Loma so much I can't go to any other pho place because I compare everyone to them, they have the best fastest and friendliest service and they already know what I want to order. The service was not the friendliest either. The guy who walked us to the table just threw the menus on the table and walked away before we even got there. We had to keep asking for water and napkins because they don't come by to check on you which is bizarre in a restaurant. Our server looked unhappy and her demeanor was not the friendliest. You can get away with bad food and good service, but not bad food and bad service. You decided to open across the street from the most delicious pho place I've ever had and I will never understand why. Please do better for your sake. I will share images of your dish vs theirs, I meant to take a photo before eating it but didn't think about it. The photo with the quail egg is Pho Leo, the other one is Pho Point Loma.
Good, standard pho spot for a quick bite of pho. Thr noodles seemed a little softer than I would have liked, also more meat. The iced coffee came pre-made, Im more fond of the standard drip at the table and mix the condensed milk at the bottom of a cup filled with ice. The broth was very tasty and it smelled delicious from the moment it was set in front of me. Overall, pretty happy with my choices
Restaurant is very nice and spacious. I was with 10 people and we were not squeezed in like other restaurants. The menu had a lot of options (not just pho and rice). They even have vegetarian options. Food was good and were big portions!! Drink that stood out to me was the dirty Thai Tea. Must try!
Finally tried this place after passing by it so many times since I usually stick to my go-to Vietnamese spot. I’m glad I stopped in because they offer dishes I don’t see at my regular place. The eggrolls came with two small pieces of lettuce and when I asked for extra, they were happy to bring more. The lemongrass beef stir-fry was tender, flavorful, and really well done. The servers were on top of everything, too.
This is my new go-to place for vietnamese food. The restaurant itself is really spacious and what makes it stand out is the open concept grill center. It's really cool to watch the chef grill food while you're waiting. I ordered pho because its been raining and nothing is better than a bowl of pho on a rainy San Diego day. The broth was really good and the bowl was a very decent size. Service was amazing, food was great, and vibes were good. Can't wait to try all the other items on the menu.
