Really let down with our experience here. Me and my partner came in a little while ago as I was really excited to try the cafe. We were seated and informed it was table service and we were more than happy to wait. It got to half an hour later and we were still waiting to be asked about ordering despite it being a very quiet day and myself and my partner signalling several times. It got to the point where staff were looking straight at us and ignoring our asking for help. The whole time we were waiting, staff were stood behind the bar gossiping. A staff member’s friends then came in and they spent a long while chatting to them in front of our table without acknowledging our requests. I understand it is a lovely surprise to see friends at work but it should be clear the job must come first when you are being paid to carry it out. After nearly an hour of no acknowledgment and pretty condescending staring and muttering to each other, I got so uncomfortable that we got up and left. I never leave bad reviews but I was particularly sad about this experience as I was really looking forward to it and know it would have been lovely had the staff wanted to do their job. I work in customer service myself and would be incredibly embarrassed if I had caused someone this level of disappointment. Go to Saffron next door if you want a friendly face and lovely service!
I’m tempted to not even write a review because this is my favorite cafe in Bristol and I don’t want it to be impossible to get in to. The staff are always super friendly and helpful. The food is delicious. The Full Monty is great but the salmon fish finger sandwich was the best! Drinks are delicious and all for a decent price!
SO IMPRESSED! We had brunch here for 4 people. Loved the location of this little cafe. Very cute & 'Bristol' vibe. Staff were very helpful & friendly. Very attentive as well, did not have to ask them over once. Food was delicious. So many options on the menu. Would definitely visit again and recommend to others. Very full, good size portions. Would choose to sit upstairs instead of downstairs again. Everyone at our table was very satisfied and happy. Lots of gluten free options available.
Perfect atmosphere especially if its a sunny day. Locals stop and have their breakfasts after they walked with their dogs! It’s a kind of morning neighbor reunion place :) fantastic breakfast menu, very helpful and dynamic staff, as a family we always visit this place when we are at the neighborhood.
Came for mid-week lunch and could not have been more pleased. Very welcoming staff and a nice cosy feel to the place. I had the rarebit which was outstanding and will definitely be coming back for. The whole menu was very reasonably priced and you can tell that the ingredients are of good quality. It’s tucked out the way so whilst it was reasonably busy, it didn’t feel overwhelming or uncomfortable.

A cozy Bristol cafe serving delicious breakfasts and brunch in a friendly, local atmosphere.
