If you find yourself in KCMO, do yourself a favor and stop by Prospero’s Books. This one-of-a-kind shop boasts a wide selection of quality books, with rare finds, timeless classics and modern favorites. As you explore the multi-level browsing areas, the atmosphere created great feelings of nostalgia from other great bookstores I've had the pleasure to visit. There are many delights tucked amongst the stacks. The proprietor is a true bibliophile, friendly, and helpful. Whether you are a serious collector or a casual reader, it is a local treasure that shouldn't be missed.

Tons of books! It is a crowded place and would be difficult to navigate in a wheelchair or walker. They were friendly.

This is what bookstore dreams are made of. Three stories of books in every nook and cranny, with such quirky little charm. Tons of used books, you’ll want to give yourself time to look through everything!
