We recently hosted our daughter 6th birthday party at Pump It Up San Jose, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish! Everything was so well organized and seamless. The kids had an amazing time jumping, playing, and laughing nonstop, and all of her friends were thoroughly entertained. The food was delicious and well taken care of, which made things easy and enjoyable for both kids and parents. What truly stood out was the service — the staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure the entire party ran smoothly without any stress for us. Parents were happy, kids were happy, and most importantly, our birthday girl had the time of her life! If you’re looking for a fun, hassle-free, and memorable birthday party venue, I highly recommend Pump It Up San Jose. We couldn’t have asked for a better celebration!
We have visited this indoor play place several times as guests and recently hosted a party here, giving us a comprehensive view of what it offers. The Good The facility successfully achieves its primary goal: entertaining children. Kids aged 5-9 years old seem to absolutely love it and are easily occupied (though it may be less ideal for those under five). We were pleasantly surprised by the catering; the food tasted good, surpassing our expectations for a play center. Furthermore, our direct interactions with the staff were generally positive. The Bad A persistent observation across all our visits is the apparent lack of adult supervision. The facility seems to be run entirely by very young workers, primarily teenagers. We have never seen or interacted with a manager or older staff member. This might contribute to operational weaknesses, as the phones are never answered, making communication difficult. A quality concern is that the play structures are showing their age, and we noticed that some parts of the facility were not very clean. While the food is overpriced, that was an expected cost of doing business and didn't factor into our overall disappointment. A Note on Tipping Culture The most disappointing aspect, and the primary reason we will not be returning or recommending this place, was the incredibly awkward and high-pressure tipping expectation at the conclusion of our party. We felt ambushed when the staff hand-wrote a massive, expected tip amount directly onto our final bill. This calculated tip was based on the total cost of the event, which included the facility rental fee. While tipping on food alone might be acceptable, being asked to tip on a rental fee crosses a line. To the owners: This practice left a very bad taste at the end of what was otherwise a positive experience. Please stop ambushing your customers with this kind of aggressive expectation.
Whoever owns this location shouldn't own a business. This location is horribly managed. I didn't see a single adult working the whole time I was here. ITS RUN BY TEENAGERS WITH NO SUPERVISION!! This is not acceptable. Not only that, there was moldy fruit in the fruit tray. Partys are overpriced for the horrible quality. Save your money
Had my daughter's 5th birthday here. It was a bit pricey but we'll worth it. I got the 20 kids deluxe Saturday package and also added a bunch of food and the glow in the dark room. We had two party pro's helping (i wish I could remember their names) both very sweet and on top of their game. Everything with tip came out to just under $1350 for roughly two hours, again this included a bunch of extra food and drinks. It was perfect because it was only my party in the play room for the hour and a half. I didn't need to worry about any other kids.
Nice concept for birthday parties. Kids thoroughly enjoy this kind of activities. Cyclone blaster in the second room is $2 per each time. It can be included in the overall price. Inflatables in the first room are worn out and need maintenance, it can cause bruises to the jumping kids. No ventilation in party hall, gets suffocating after some time. No outside food or drinks allowed for the party. Pizzas are available to purchase from them but are super expensive.
