I took my puppy here for puppy preschool and kindergarten and it was such a great experience! The instructors, Kris and Dana, were knowledgeable, kind, and incredibly helpful. My puppy has grown so much in her classes at Raintown and we love taking her here!
We started out at Raintown with Puppy Kindergarten and Basic Manners, both of which were immensely helpful at setting us up for success as first time puppy owners. We've since participated in their community walks and events, set up playdates with other dogs from their class directory, and worked through some adolescent reactivity in private sessions with Kris. At every stage we have felt supported by the friendly and knowledgeable trainers and would wholeheartedly recommend Raintown in any and every capacity! Plus we regularly get compliments from other dog owners on our pup's recall, which is 100% thanks to the "emergency recall" lesson in Basic Manners class.
An amazing group of talented young women. The programmes are very well structured, yet adaptable for each individual puppy. Classes are small enough that everybody gets individual attention. The entire team are highly professional trainers (with a generous dose of common sense mixed in)- who ensure that the time that Owners spend with them is enjoyable and productive. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend any of the Raintown courses.
My partner and I did two private training sessions with Kris to help my Shiba Marcy with her leash reactivity. She had had several incidents prior to our sessions where she had bitten my partner and I due to her reactivity and we decided we needed some extra help. The two sessions were really great for getting feedback on how we could help her and proceed with desensitization training. A year and a half out we’ve been very consistent with positive reinforcement and desensitization training and she has improved a lot. She’s not perfect but the most important thing to me is that there hasn’t been a biting incident since before our sessions with Kris since we are now able to recognize Marcy’s body language. Doing training while on daily walks with her has been such a joy and has really made our bond closer. Highly recommend Raintown and Kris! And thank you from Marcy and I.
From puppy pre-k, to kindergarten and finally basic manners, my family and I have gathered so much useful information from our time spent with the Raintown team. We have learned the value of foundational commands, and were further taught on how we could apply theories of both classical and operant conditioning into real world situations. Sara and Dana have been so helpful in answering all of our questions and concerns about separation anxiety, crate training and managing signs of resource guarding. I can’t recommend these classes enough!! They have provided us with the skills needed to support and care for dogs for a lifetime. The most valuable thing I’ve learned during my time here is to never underestimate the importance of high value treats!!!! Very grateful for the Raintown team and all of their hard work 🐾
