The staff were friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, the room itself had several mechanical issues that took away from the experience. We paid $123 for three people and weren’t able to finish, not because we couldn’t solve the puzzles, but because multiple elements didn’t work as expected. At one point, we correctly cracked a clue, but the mechanism failed to automatically open. We spent several minutes confused before asking for a hint, only to be told we were right and that the prop has been “finicky.” Those lost minutes added up quickly. Later, we were told that if something doesn’t move with two-finger pressure, it doesn’t move. We followed that instruction. However, we ended up taking another hint just to be told we needed to pull a lever down, something we had already tried. The issue was that the lever actually required two-hand pressure to move, which directly contradicted what we were told. Because it didn’t move with light pressure, we assumed it wasn’t meant to be forced and didn’t want to break anything. That single issue caused us to waste nearly 25 minutes in the room when we could have progressed immediately. While the staff was great, the unreliable and misleading mechanics made the experience frustrating and not worth the price. Escape rooms should test problem-solving skills, not guesswork around broken or inconsistent props.

We did The Gift! It was a great room! The sword was tricky! Kate was a great game master. Of the hundreds of Escape rooms I’ve done, this is by far my favorite company. Highly recommend!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 Stars for Kate at Red Door Escape Room (Plano)! We escaped “The Warrior’s Way” and even made the current leaderboard for this month! Come on over and beat our time 🎉 Our game master, Kate, was absolutely amazing—super friendly, energetic, and encouraging from start to finish. We only used two clues, and she made sure to hype us up for how smoothly we breezed through the room, especially since it was our first time at Red Door. The puzzles were creative, the atmosphere was immersive, and Kate’s enthusiasm made the experience even better. Definitely coming back to tackle the rest of the rooms at Plano and the other locations!
