UPDATE: moving from 5 to 3 stars. I still think the bike is mostly great (see below). Recently the thing that's been bothering me is that the electric motor hub on the rear wheel prevents accessing the inner pad adjustment for the disc brake (not enough space to fit a stubby allen wrench). While I can still use the adjuster if I remove the brake caliper from the frame, it makes the whole adjustment process a bit more cumbersome. I don't think this is a unique issue to this e-bike, as I've seen the same issue on several e-bike internet forums. However, it does feel like a design flaw that is pretty easy to catch. I'm moving to three stars for now because when I contacted customer service about the issue they dismissed my concern saying all the adjuster does is hold the brake pad piston and I don't need to adjust it. While I disagree, because you need to move the pad in as it wears, I was mostly displeased with how they handled my complaint. I mostly felt dismissed. ORIGINAL: I got the Core-5 e-bike (I don't think it's sold any longer, but it was the budget commuter option) but it has been great for 7 months of commuting so far. I live on a hill up about 200 feet, 6-7% gradient, so it's awesome being able to get home without sweating buckets like I used to. Battery usually last me 6-8 days or so of 2 miles each way, and I can take it anywhere I need in my small town just as quickly as a car. It's rather large and cumbersome to store in my 2nd floor apartment, but we treat it as our second car so it's worth the extra effort. I'd recommend the bike, I have had zero problems so far.

Hi, I received my brand new Ride 1 Up Portola today, March 28 2025. Thank you for the really fast shipping from Salt Lake City to Denver. It arrived safely except for two very minor issues. The rear fender was scuffed and bent so that it was making a lot of contact with the rear tire. I was able to bend the thin metal supports holding the rear fender enough to get it back to a normal position. There are some scratches on the rear fender. Nothing major, just wanted to let you know in case a better packaging method is possible. Also, the bell is broken. Photos provided. I also was expecting a set of rear pannier. Maybe they will arrive separately??? Thank you for accepting my Colorado Ebike Rebate application!!! Also, the end user unboxing and final setup was easy since your setup video on Youtube is outstanding. Otherwise, after a really fun first ever Portola ride, all I can say is WOW!!!!!!!!!! I have been a Lectric XP 3.0 step over owner for the last three years. That ebike has some really good qualities but I'm a 5'11", 210 lbs, very fit 70 year old guy and that XP 3.0 was so unwieldy, difficult to mount and dismount and weighed more than 70 lbs with the battery installed (not the advertised 62 lbs) that it simply scared me and I rarely rode it. The folding joint always creaked and the seat and handle bars were never comfortable no matter how I adjusted them. I also road an XP 3.0 step thru a couple of times and still could not get comfortable or felt safe. I was immediately in heaven comfort wise as soon as I got this Portola's seat height adjusted. The ride quality was fantastic, quiet and predictable, not noisy and jerky like the XP 3.0. I felt right at home on the Portola and had no qualms about safety when riding it. I cannot say enough good things about this bike even after just one ride. I really think more elderly people should do YouTube reviews for your Portola. It is off the charts more suitable for elderly riders with some minor mobility issues, slight unsteadiness, need a lighter/smaller ebike or have shorter step thru needs due to their body height. Those younger 25 to 50 year olds doing Portola, Lectric XP 2.0, 3.0, XP4, XP Lite, Aventon Sinch 2.5 and Velotric Fold 1 Plus reviews ( I have now ridden all of them) are not able to give a true picture of how appropriate the Portola is for the over 60 crowd and how inappropriate some of those other Ebikes I mentioned are for smaller riders and that over 60 age group. Thank you for making this awesome Ebike!!!!

Buyer beware, if you buy open box or if your bike is shipped, Ride1up won't do anything. "As for the cosmetic damage to the bike, this is likely a consequence of the additional transit. Being that this is an open box product, it is very likely that this unit has traveled more than most. This unit is covered under the manufacturer's warranty, and we will offer replacement of any component, such as the battery compartment plate. There is very little we can do about the cosmetic damage." Putting it lightly, the bike was beat to heck and shows it. Attached a few photos, the whole bike is like this.

Nice showroom. Workers are knowledgeable and honest about performance and which bike works for you. The bikes are all very nice and the test ride helps you make a decision.

I gotta Ride1Up Vorsa 1 month ago. I love it. It's a great deal for someone that's gonna ride the streets, but go off road some. I'd advice ya to buy the suspension seat since it doesn't have rear suspension. However, with the improved seat it rides great. This bike does set fairly tall with 27.5 wheels that are awesome, unless you're a shorty. I'm 6 ft and it fits just right. If your under 5'10" I'd advise ya to pick out a different bike. Mine came with a Display that had a bad menu button, though. I called them made a short video of the issue, sent it to them and had a new display that works great in 3-4 days at no cost. So, if your looking for customer service; you found it. Ride1Up has the best custumer service I've ever seen. This Vorsa is a great bang for buck deal. I can't brag enough about what you can control with the display and the torque sensor system. I would have given it 5 stars; but I did have that display issue, at first.
