The BEST shrimp and grits I’ve ever had and it was enough to feed two people. Generous portion of grilled shrimp on hatch green chili grits. Nice crispy bits of chilis/onion added a nice crunch. I added two poached eggs at the suggestion of the waiter, which was a great choice. The kicker was the chorizo-infused oil “sauce” that isn’t listed on the menu yet but made the dish one for the record books. I took half home for a breakfast later in the week.
Stopped in this morning with my family. Genevieve was our server. The menu offers a wide variety of options—I had the sweet potato hash with eggs over medium, and the challah French toast was absolutely outstanding. The only area for improvement would be the service; after our food was delivered, we didn’t see our server again until it was time to pay the bill. Overall, great food and a pleasant experience.
My rating is between 3 and 4. First I want to say the food is good. Service was decent for a busy day and everyone seemed to have smiles on their faces. Wife had the pancakes with strawberries and she loved them. I had the smash burger. The burger was good the way it comes on the menu. I got ketchup just in case but didn't need it. The bun however was soggy on the bottom. Soaked up all the grease. Maybe if the bun was toasted it would have been better. Wife ordered lemonade. It was mixed fresh, though she thought was a little too sour and could have benefited from a little more sugar. In all, I can say we will be back to eat here. One big downfall for me was the dirtiness on the bar. There was a stand with some kind of juice. It was very dusty and greasy. Also, the cash register stand was covered in dust. Not pleasant to look at while eating at the bar.
The goat cheese and blueberry dip was the highlight — absolutely delicious with the bread. The chicken-fried prime rib was just okay; great crust and gravy, but the meat was a bit tough. Everything else was solid, and the Mexican Café de Olla was exactly what I needed to start my morning. I’d definitely return.
Friendly faces, excellent coffee, and comfort-food portions done right. The Bloody Marys are legit—ask for spicy; they’re balanced, peppery, and easily the best we’ve had on vacation. Food tastes homemade, comes out hot, and the servings are generous without being sloppy. Prices felt fair, the dining room was clean, and service stayed upbeat the whole time. We liked it so much on day one that we went back the next day—and we’ll be back again. If you want a place that treats you like a regular and feeds you like family, this is it.
