Food was really good although not authentic tacos. Ordered the birria tacos, the plating was odd as it was on a wood plate smaller than the taco and with no edges, so the juices would spill everywhere. The flavor was slightly off, too much cumin. Their guac is prepared table side , the flavor is average, the use of pickled jalapeños Is not traditional and it needs some more lime. Place can feel a little crowded with the space in between tables or the small booths
We had an amazing experience at Rocco’s Tacos & Tequila Bar in Tampa! Our waiter, Chris, was absolutely fantastic, super friendly, charismatic, and incredibly thorough when explaining the menu. He really went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. We started with the tableside guacamole (so fresh and delicious!) and the wings. We asked for them extra crispy and they came out perfectly cooked. For entrées, we had the Al Carbon skirt steak and the tacos. You can order the tacos as a pair or get the platter with rice and beans, which is a great option. For dessert, we shared the brownie with ice cream, and it was the perfect sweet ending. Prices felt very fair for the quality and portions. The atmosphere is casual but really nice, with great music playing in the background. They also have indoor and outdoor seating, and the outdoor heaters were super helpful during the cooler Florida weather. Overall, we loved our visit and would definitely come back, especially to see Chris again. Highly recommend!
Went a few weeks ago and I love the vibe of the mall and being able to sit outside by. We had the chips for a starter and they are some of the best chips at a restaurant. Then my main event was the birria tacos. They were solid not the best but still a decent taco. I love the decorations around the bar and of course watch some TV while peeing in the bathroom.
We were here on a Monday night. The hostess and waitress were not very friendly, and the service was slow. This was disappointing because I have had better service at this restaurant before, and it was not very busy. The food was delicious! Recommend the table side guacamole, although the “medium” was not very spicy at all. The taco salad and chicken tacos were also very good. House margarita was okay.
Atmosphere is great and you feel like you’re definitely in a Mexican restaurant by the border. Price seemed high for just average food, except for the guacamole. Food was pretty good and the table side guacamole was great, 100% would order it again. It’s enough for a meal for two people and I think I would stop there next time I go. My fish tacos were good, but my wife asked for no onion and the tacos were just sad, they literally put a couple small pieces of steak on each one and we had to send them back, for $22 you can give me a decent taco. Service was a bit slow but it was busy that day so I’ll give them a pass. She forgot our side dish and I still don’t know if they charged us for it. My advice is get the chips and guacamole and if it’s really busy order the easiest thing possible as the kitchen and waitstaff seem to be disconnected.
