I’ve known Jock for over 20 years. I began learning from him at the age of eight, starting with reading music, followed by learning tunes from my favorite bands, then learning the classical guitar. In addition, Jock taught me how to create music, record music and understand music to the point where it became a second nature. Even more, Jock taught me how to hold my ground when playing piano and drums. Be it jazz, blues, rock or classical, his technique is superb and his accomplishments speak for themselves. Besides being a guitar teacher and a musical mentor, Jock is so caring, patient and thoughtful, I think of him as a member of the family. I know his other students feel the same. Spending time in his studio is always a blast and I’m always learning while having fun. Jock taught me discipline, guitar technique, how to record music, and how to create music. I’m now a professional performer and I owe a large part of my career and success to Jock.

I started taking guitar lessons with Jock in the '90's and have progressed to writing and recording with his help and inspiration. I can't recommend him enough, not only for guitar lessons but for recording and songwriting as well. Two thumbs up!!

My son has taken bass lessons from Jock for over two years. As a music teacher myself and the student of countless music teachers, I can say that I really admire Jock's teaching method. My son feels confident when he looks at a new piece of music, because he knows how to read music and rhythms. He's played lots of classics and feels really challenged by the music Jock introduces to him. Jock is great about communicating with me about would make my son's lessons most effective and rewarding. The best part for me is when I listen to Jock and my son jam together. My son really enjoys his lessons.

Jock Rockenbach is a peoples kind of person, a man who is willing to help any student who wants to succeed, do exactly that. Although i have just recently started taking guitar lessons from him, i know that Jock's supportive, encouraging words and techniques to mastering the guitar are some that i will hold on to forever. I am a sophomore in high school and have been a student at Rockenbach for a little more than a year now, and my music skills have improved greatly. I had little experience reading music or playing guitar, but I can now site read. Jock is very friendly and talented. He makes lessons that could be tedious or boring fun. The speed of his lessons is very tailored to each individual students' needs and is very knowledgeable about everything to do with guitar and bass. I love going to lessons and hate to miss even one.
