Little did I suspect that a casual suggestion from my husband, to try Tai Chi, would become a five year journey. My husband thought it would be good exercise. I wasn't sure I'd like it. It's been 5 years and I'm still going. I'm in my late 70's and I feel that this practice helps my ability to focus mentally and physically. It helps me maintain strength, balance and flexibility. The instructors, Master Rothrock, Sifu White and Mr. Machinist each deliver the lessons with patience, humor, encouragement and in small digestible doses, so that one can progress and not be overwhelmed or discouraged. I highly recommend these classes.

I'm an retired man who joined the classes to improve my flexibility, mobility, and general physical condition. Plus, I have an ankle that was injured some years ago from a break and has never been quite right. Well, Tai-Chi has done way more for my ankle then physical therapy. (Not denying the value of PT, but it wasn't a complete solution). My flexibility is greatly improved, muscle tone is better, and I am much lighter on my feet. Sometimes the workouts are tiring, but there is a sense of accomplishment. During class, you practice the routines you have learned to that point, and a few times over the session, you get personalized instruction on the next step or how to improve some of what you have already learned. Master Sifu is a very good and positive instructor. Highly recommended.

I've been attending tai chi classes for over a month and genuinely enjoy the class, instructors and people I have been meeting there. I've seen improvements in my balance and mood when I'm done with class. It's also challenging my memory to improve. I highly recommend it.

As a Tai Chi student at the Southside Rothrock’s Academy, I can highly recommend them if you are interested in learning the slow graceful movements of the practice. The classes are well structured and Sifu White and Mr. Machinist provide very individualized and supportive instruction.

Mr. White and Mr. Machinist are both professional and approachable. My 11 year old granddaughter looks forward to every single class. Great experience for all ages. 🙂😀
