My daughter has been studying violin at Royal Music Academy (RMA) since the second semester of 5th grade and has now been there for five years. During this time, RMA has played a vital role in her musical development and confidence as a young violinist. The instructors at RMA are highly skilled, professional, and truly dedicated to each student’s progress. They go beyond teaching technique — they cultivate a genuine love for music, strong discipline, and confidence in performance. With their guidance, my daughter has successfully passed the All-Region auditions every year since 7th grade and has consistently performed in her school’s top orchestra ensemble. She has also earned a spot in the GDYO, and received numerous awards in competitions for which RMA helped students register and prepare. Beyond weekly lessons, the Academy actively encourages students to participate in a wide range of musical activities, including concerts, recitals, and community outreach performances such as playing at nursing homes. These experiences have been incredibly valuable in helping her grow not only as a musician, but also as a person. Overall, Royal Music Academy offers outstanding musical instruction within a supportive and inspiring community. Royal Music Academy has been a truly wonderful experience for my kid. Learning violin with Ms. Tang has been such a gift—she is patient, thoughtful, and connects with students in a way that makes them feel both encouraged and inspired. My child has grown so much in both skill and confidence, and most importantly, genuinely enjoys every lesson. The academy creates a warm and supportive environment where music is celebrated. My daughter has been taking piano lessons with Dr. Lizhen Wu for over two years. There are not enough stars on all of Google to express the gratitude I have for Dr. Wu! Dr. Wu is a skilled musician with highly effective teaching methods, but what really sets him apart is his dedication. He genuinely cares about his students and goes above and beyond for them. When we found Dr. Wu, my daughter was barely beginner/intermediate. Under his instruction, she’s seen tremendous growth, and has won local, interstate, and even international competitions. Through competing, she has developed grit and has learned the importance of hard work. Dr. Wu holds his students to a high standard, but is strict with a gentle hand. He is empathetic and patient, and adjusts his lessons and expectations accordingly. My daughter hates practicing, and doesn't always love playing the piano, but she definitely loves her piano teacher. And when an emotionally volatile preteen loves a teacher, that's really saying something! I am so grateful for the wonderful musical education my daughter has received from Dr. Wu, and for the friendships we have formed within the supportive RMA community!
My kiddos’ve been learning with RMA for many many years. Even before RMA was founded, they learned the piano with its founders, and later switched to learning the violin. Every teacher at RMA is highly professional, engaging, and dedicated. They also provide students with numerous professional performance opportunities. Now, with the addition of many young instructors, the school's teaching resources have become even more diverse. I highly recommend RMA!
