absolutely amazing. its one of the few sushi places nearby that i would go to everyday if i could. this kept me fed during college. sure you can argue that i could’ve just.. gotten sushi from harris teeter or publix and actually cooked at home for cheaper, but that’s not the point. i was exhausted, just trying to get through my last year of school, didn’t have time or energy to cook. just wanted to get through the year. this place made my life a gazillion times better. Especially since my dad happily picked it up for me while i was at home, studying, and probably falling asleep in the process since i was always up late doing assignments. sure, it’s a bit on the pricey side and you can argue that i could’ve just gotten it cheaper from HT or publix.. or just cooked at home. but that’s not the point. the sushi here is really good. the salmon poke bowl? i’ll get three. i might’ve been a broke college student, but god it was worth it. i personally recommend white rice mixed with seaweed salad and sashimi of your choice, but i LOVE it with salmon/tuna/eel. we also went on my birthday in February, dine in, absolutely lovely service. I also got a free fried ice cream plus a candle for my birthday😭😭😭 still think about it since I wasn’t expecting it and aaaaa i miss this place, the people, and the food. service did not change when i ordered out most of the time and was amazing as always. I CANNOT WAIT for this place to reopen. i miss it. would give ten stars if i could.

Dare I say… best sushi experience in VB? The music, the lighting, the drinks, the food, the service, etc. all exceeded my expectations. The bar is beautiful, and the Pain Killer beverage was just as affordable as it was tasty! Great selection on the menu, and the house made ginger dressing on their house salad is the best I’ve had in VA Beach. I was impressed with the alcohol selection and non-sushi options as well. Family friendly service but a fun and modern vibe inside. I will be returning!

Was so happy to see a Sakura opening up in the Redmill/Pungo area! This area has been missing a good sushi place for so long! Sakura, even for a soft opening, is doing great things! With a great location, friendly staff, great sushi, what else do you need. It was very clean and inviting! A wide variety of classic and "special"/newer rolls to choose from. Not to mention special like fresh uni and sweet shrimp! We ended up with 5 different rolls thanks to Celina. She is the best! Overseeing everything, making sure the food was perfect, drinks were refilled, and everything was above expectations. 100% coming back, and I can't wait!

My wife and I had a great time. It had a very welcoming, friendly, relaxing atmosphere. The waiter was very kind and explain everything that came out with the food before ordering and after. The presentation of the food beautiful really surprise me. I love how Sakura had stone plating something different you don’t see in other sushi restaurants. We love the food and recommend trying the red mill sushi it’s was delicious as well as the volcano roll. If you want a drink try their Mai tai it compliments the food in my opinion. Definitely coming back .
