First of all I want to say thank you to this Urgent Care. Wait times are so long at the emergency hospital. Waiting 2 or more hours just to see the doctor. Here my pet was seen treated and home in 3 hours total. Doing very well now and will be back in a week from now to have the stitches removed.
Brought my dog here with a large laceration. I called ahead and was told to head right over. They were very nice on the phone and I was able to drop my dog off since he would be there for many hours getting emergency surgery. Everyone was very nice. Natsumi was my dogs nurse and she explained everything very well. The staff here is very educated. Even Melissa on the phone explained everything so well I don’t thought I was talking to the vet at first but she is actually the manager there. I can’t thank this place enough. I highly recommend them. They are higher than my regular vet but for a weekend night it was very reasonable . Thank you so much San Diego Vet Urgent Care. ❤️ Update 8/30/25 just had my second visit here and it was a great experience again. I’m truly thankful. Jose was very helpful and knowledgeable.
they charged me $1250 just to clean an infected wound on my cat without breaking down the charges (I had to ask what the charges were for). And then when I asked for an itemized receipt to explain the charges suddenly it was $650. I was waiting outside for 30 minutes even with an appointment as vets came in and out. I ended up paying $950 because they convinced me to get blood work done for $350 (this was completely unnecessary) These vets are ripping you off. My cat was put under sedation to clean a wound. It wasn't wrapped up and she wasn't going under surgery but still 1250 just to put a cone on her head. I'm shocked and extremely dissatisfied at the care of this facility.
Had a wonderful experience with Dr. martinez and her team. Our 2O week old kitten pulled a large plant over on herself and injured her leg. We feared it was broken. The VCA ER had a three hour wait and they recommended this urgent care. We called and they told us to bring her right over. They were so warm and caring, clearly as concerned about our kitten as we were. They were professional, excellent listeners and communicated clearly. They emailed the xrays to us and the vet reviewed them with us over the phone, reassuring us that there were no breaks or dislocations, and it was likely a bruise. They gave us some light pain meds for us, sending them and her records home in this adorable bag they made just for her. We brought or kitten to them in a basket with a towel over it because it’s all we had and they gave us a free heavy duty cardboard carrier to bring her home in. Hope to never need a veterinary urgent care in the future but will definitely use them if we do. Going to check and see if Dr. Martinez works anywhere else for regular veterinary care!
This is the best Pet Urgent Care. I have had to visit here twice. Its always scary to have to be in this situation and bring your pets to Urgent Care. If your pet is sick and your regular vet isn't open or can't see them then I recommend you come here. Both visits were life saving and this post is long overdue. One kitten was a rescue and in bad shape, I wont go into details but she needed help asap or she was not going to make it after being stuck in a car engine of a neighbor. We have a feral cat problem in our neighborhood. This girl is much bigger now and alive thanks to this vet. My dog is also doing great after she was stunk by a bee. I should have written this review weeks ago. Thank You San Diego Vet Urgent Care.
