Doctors are pretty good but the wait times after checking in for an appointment are awful. Average about 25 min after checking in to be seen. Block off about 3 hours for your 10 min appointment. The actual visits even seemed rushed because I'm sure they're constantly behind. I'm giving it one more time before I switch providers. The marginal benefit from seeing a good doctor isn't worth the extra wait times.
I came to Dr. Harris for a second opinion on a difficult diagnosis. He is a good balance of forthright, knowledgeable, understanding as well and open to complimentary treatments when effective, which is mostly what I do. He helped me understand the reality while remaining hopeful and also feeling good about the treatments I’ve been doing that have made it a particularly mild case. So it helps me also to feel hopefully and confident in proceeding while also knowing I have a knowledgeable person who can prescribe more front line treatments if it becomes necessary and who can monitor what is working. I really appreciate the peace of mind in that as I had been struggling with the uncertainty of the diagnosis and how to proceed when some of my underlying conditions as well As my world view make it difficult for me to consider pharmaceuticals.
I had been seeing Dr Hanson at this location, she was terrific. Very competent with a great bedside manner. When she left I continued to go to Sanova. The last two experiences at the north Austin location were unpleasant. This was true especially today. Dr Harris came off very condescending. I didn’t appreciate how he spoke to both myself and the nurse in the room. It left a really bad taste in my mouth being talked at. After all these years, I will never be coming back.
Dr Shelton performed Mohs Surgery on an area on my chest and it went perfectly smooth from start to finish. Dr Shelton came in and discussed the options we had for the removal of skin cancer. We decided on Mohs due to upcoming travel and my not wanting to return if it all wasn’t removed. The surgery went quickly, and the desired result was achieved on the first cut, so Dr Shelton stitched me up. She also did a quick biopsy on another area I asked her to look at. I could not have asked for a better turn out as I left in a few hours. The office is very nice and the staff are so pleasant. I was given blankets to stay warm and offered drinks and snacks were also available, although I didn’t have any. Thanks everyone for making this a pleasant experience
Definitely exceeded my expectations!!! From the welcoming office atmosphere to the pleasant attitude of the staff, I felt secure and confident that the quality of medical care would be the same. I was not disappointed. The pleasantries from the medical assistant were beyond expectations, only to be followed by the excellent care from Dr . Harris. He took the time to listen and carefully explained the what’s and why’s of his diagnosis. I was very impressed.
