To be honest, I was a little cynical about Doggy Daycares in general but I am SO glad we signed up with our terrier pup Ziggy. From the first play session we noticed a difference in Ziggys behavior regarding playing, biting, and obedience. The focus the pups get from the teachers and the reinforcement of good behaviors is fantastic and helped to fast track Ziggy's training. The reports and feedback are thoughtful and actionable and although his training is not 'done' it's advanced much more than I anticipated. I thoroughly recommend this school if you're able to sign up.
We had such a wonderful experience with SF Puppy Prep! Our pup Hazy started attending puppy socials when she was just a few months old and absolutely loved it. We also took Aishe’s 4-week 100-level puppy class, which gave us such a strong foundation and community to enter into puppy parenthood together. Hazy learned so many important skills, and we really appreciated Aishe’s thoughtful, supportive teaching style. It was also such a bonus to connect with other puppy parents and share in the ups and downs of raising a pup together. From there, we enrolled Hazy in Puppy Prep Day School, which was perfect for our work schedules. She always came home happy and tired, and we were so grateful for the times Mac and the team met with us to provide in-home training support. We learned so much and felt consistently supported by the entire staff. Hazy loved it so much that we continued with Itty Bitty Doggy City, which has been amazing for helping her grow into a well-trained, happy, and socialized adolescent pup. We’re so thankful for the incredible trainers and community at Puppy Prep—they’ve truly set Hazy (and us!) up for success. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a safe, kind, and highly skilled dog training and daycare program.
I have been working with SF puppy prep for almost a year now for my puppy Betty. We brought her in for the immersive puppy day school initially (at 18 weeks old) and did about 12 weeks of training. Once they began offering daycare (itty bitty dog city), we decided to bring her back. as a first time puppy parent, I cannot express my gratitude to the entire team at SF puppy prep. My biggest goal for Betty was to make sure that she was socialized and trained properly, and ensure that she wouldn’t become fearful and reactive as a little dog . The training and support we’ve received for her and us as new puppy parents has been incredible. Everywhere we go we receive compliments about how well behaved and well adjusted she is. She may be 6 pounds, but she doesn’t know it. She’s confident, she understands commands, and she knows when to engage and pull back with other dogs. Thanks to them, Betty is not reactive or afraid, and she barely ever barks. They are also extremely accommodating to us as puppy parents. My fiancé and I have had a very busy and eventful year, and SF puppy prep has been so flexible and helpful to us. We are so grateful. If you’re looking for positive reinforcement training for your puppy or small dog, as well as a supportive community to help you as a new dog owner, come here! Betty absolutely loves going to puppy school and she adores her teachers. Picking her up and dropping her off is also a bright spot in my day- the staff are so kind and positive. Seeing Isaiah, one of the instructors, with Betty literally makes my day. He is sunshine in human form. Thank you to Dru, Isaiah and the entire team at SF puppy prep! We are so grateful for you all and Miss Betty loves you all so much!
Thanks to the amazing trainers from the Dayschool and Puppy Fundamentals class, our goldendoodle Rosie has blossomed from a timid pup terrified of other dogs to a confident girl who loves all people and dogs! At 20 weeks, she’s stopped biting almost entirely too. We really loved the Parent Teacher Conferences where a knowledgeable trainer gave us tips to continue working on challenges specific to our dog at home. Puppy Prep overall is great at teaching owners new skills to reinforce the great training taught in the school. We felt empowered by the team in knowing how to deal with the biting, alone time whining, and most importantly socialization with other dogs. Looking forward to signing up for more advanced classes soon!
I’m not exaggerating when I say this is one of the most important businesses in the city. They’re ability to teach young pups - and their humans - how to exist safely and happily in this particular urban environment is a true service to every citizen. Mac, Erin and their team were spectacular when we first got our pup. He ended up getting quite sick before we were able to begin working with puppy prep and Erin was an incredible resource and support for us - she hadn’t even met our dog yet! She checked in every few days until he recovered, and was incredibly flexible in helping us adjust his start time and not miss critical socialization windows while he was tiny. We later continued with Outdoor Education - their “graduate program” - and it was incredible to learn from Ellie and Erin’s intuition. They understand dogs so well! He was very sad when it was finally time to move on - he loves them so so much (very much more than us…) Truly, our life with our dog would be dramatically different if it weren’t for puppy prep. We’re lucky they exist. There are no thanks sufficient enough.
