My partner and I found SF Vet Hospital while looking for dental care for our 11 year old maltipoo/pom who needed extractions. The estimate matched what we received from another vet but what set SF Vet Hospital apart was the care we received from Dr gill and our vet assistants, Jamie and Joy. There were a lot of emotions as we navigated the cost of 11 extractions and surgery on an 11 year old dog. Dr Gill and his team remained patient with us as we asked questions and discussed all of our options. Jamie talked us through the estimate and gave us a thorough explanation of everything they would be doing. She did not apply pressure and helped us navigate the procedure and related costs with care. We also really appreciated the care we received after the surgery as Dr Gill took us through why he had to remove each tooth and what to expect in recovery. Right after surgery Dr Gill told us our dog would be a different, happier dog in 2 weeks and we didn't think it was possible as he was already an outgoing happy dog. Now, a few months post surgery - it's obvious Dr Gill was right. This surgery has greatly improved Theo's quality of life - he has more energy, plays more, and is overall more cuddly. We are so thankful for the care we ALL received at SF Vet Hospital and will definitely be recommending and continuing to bring our (now toothless) Theo here.

On Friday, we needed a vet in dire need for our Fur baby. I called and went online to make a wellness checkup . No luck, no appointments , and expensive just for the visit. Saturday we took uber to the SF SPCA no appointments. Went upstairs to the hospital SF SPCA. NOTHING AVAILABLE. I was recommended to SF VET Hospital, which was close by. I had visited their website Friday and Saturday . We walked over and was greeted, with a smile by the desk Receptionist, her name was Rachel , she was helpful and knowledgable she answered questions I had, she informed us of the the first time, new patient discount. She made an appointment for the next day, also she had me fill out the form so no delays and Rusty would be ready to see the Vet. The next day we arrived and the atmosphere was different, not so welcoming. I did feel a bit uncomfortable asking questions. But I will be back to get Rusty final booster shot. We'll see how it goes. I will suggest if you adopt a dog or cat look into a beneficial plan, because it adds up, it's scary to love your pet and not know can I afford to help my fur baby. We are grateful this time.

This was the worst experience we have ever had. We scheduled an appointment months in advance, only to receive a call 15 minutes before the appointment saying the doctor was not available — and it was delivered with attitude, as if none of it was their fault. The second incident was just as bad. They told us to come pick up our pet’s medicine, so I went the next morning. When I arrived, they couldn’t find it, and instead of taking responsibility, they threatened to call the cops. Completely unbelievable. All the credit goes to Rachel, the worst front-desk person I’ve ever dealt with. She showed attitude, no empathy, and never offered an apology for their repeated mistakes. Overall, very unprofessional and extremely frustrating. I cannot recommend this place at all I can’t wait to be done with this horrible experience.

Amazing experience start to finish. We found a sweet little 4 year old Basset hound Bonnie had a infected tooth. Our normal vet couldn't get us in for Dental till January. We called SF Vet at 3:30 and had a appointment at 4:30 same day, then scheduled surgery for Friday and they took great care of Bonnie and my wife....lol. Rachel at the front desk is Spectacular she comforted my wife and Dr Gill was so good and on point. Thank you SF Vet

First time here for my dog’s stomach issues and the staff was very kind and helpful! Jamie was sweet with my dog and in turn my dog also had a calm experience. I would recommend to any friends looking for an easy and transparent vet experience.
