Atmosphere was cool. First time going to a comedy show where ever single comic was Not funny.
The 5 star reviews are a bit misleading because I'm sure they do have 5-star nights now and then, but our experience was between 3 and 4 stars. Not bad at all, just definitely not 5 stars. The best part is the atmosphere and location. It really feels like you're in a New York comedy club. The service was also excellent with frequent refills and affordable drinks. The low point was actually the sting of comedians. I started to think we had walked in on open mic night, but no. We probably saw 10 comedians within an hour and a half and maybe 2 made us genuinely laugh out loud. We are very good sports with comedians and definitely did our part to interact with the comedy but most of it was forced and the few patrons weren't helping. We ended up feeling bad for most of the comedians. Tough crowd.
Be aware of the 20% auto gratuity on food/drink orders, we were a little caught off guard by that. the food itself was okay, the drinks were basic and quick, nothing to write home about but it was decent and the wait for the food was short. This was my family's first time in Dallas. We did some bar hopping before hand and ended up walking into Frankies and downstairs to the show at Sharkys on a whim. i believe it was $15 a person which seemed like a fair price for laughs and a good show. The comedians we saw perform were overall not very funny. The small crowd the place did manage to draw was pretty dead. laughs were few and far between but we were trying to have fun regardless. Comics attempting to roast people were mostly appropriate but at a certain point went way too far with it. It came across as insults rather than poking fun. It actually made me pretty uncomfortable, needless to say, we left early and i doubt we will ever come back. This is a first for me as far as paying for a show and leaving early... not a great impression. The Owner seems like a pretty good guy... maybe it was just a bad night? I dont know, but it left a pretty cruddy stain on the otherwise great time we had in a new city. If i was to do it over again, i wouldve stayed upstairs at Franky's which seems like a pretty awesome sports bar.
Looking forward to attending this comedy club. Horribly rude person on door. Refused entry to us for no reason. I’m 48, my wife is 48 my children are 18 & 19. Their website clearly says all welcome but need ID to buy drink. Area around club stinks of urine, homeless everywhere. Horrible experience overall.
Shark's Comedy Show at Underground (Frankie's) was the absolute highlight of our trip to Dallas! With a group of 15 from out of town, we couldn't have picked a better spot for an incredible night of laughter. The venue is perfect for a comedy show—intimate, well-run, and with top-notch waitstaff that made the experience even better. It's clear that Noah "Shark" puts his heart and soul into every aspect of this show. From organizing and promoting to filming and delivering his own hilarious sets, his dedication shines through. The lineup was fantastic, the atmosphere was electric, and we were laughing non-stop. We originally showed up to watch two of our group members perform, but gladly stayed for the entirety of the show. If you're in Dallas and looking for a night of comedy done right, Shark’s Comedy Show is a must! We'll definitely be back next time we’re in town!
