I purchased my wedding dress from Kinsley Couture Bridal in Walnut Creek and was referred to Sheryl Giles Bridal for alterations — and I couldn’t be happier with the results. My gown was extremely long, delicate, and made entirely of lace, requiring significant work to ensure the perfect fit. What felt like a daunting task to me was handled effortlessly by Sheryl’s team. Their expertise, attention to detail, and timely turnaround made the entire process stress-free. The finished dress fit beautifully and truly stole the show on my wedding day! I couldn’t have asked for a better dress shopping experience! I was planning a simple but elegant micro-wedding and originally ordered a dress online, but it was a disaster and only had six weeks until the big day. A friend recommended Sheryl Giles, and booking an appointment with them was the best decision I made. From the moment I walked in with my closest ladies, Jen (the stylist) made me feel heard and taken care of. I told her I was on a budget and preferred something long-sleeved and form-fitting. It was like she read my mind, she immediately understood my vision. I tried on a few styles, but when I found the dress: long-sleeved, sparkly, intricate lace, mermaid cut, dramatic train, I had that emotional moment. I felt like the most beautiful bride and didn’t want to take it off. Since it was an intricate and a sample gown and I’m only 5’1”, I trusted them with the alterations. They did everything and beyond! hemming, adjusting sleeves, adding room in the hips, fixing tiny holes, replacing buttons, and creating the perfect bustle. I kept calling them magicians because of how much detailed-work Chandler and Sheryl put in. They truly made the dress fit on my body like it was absolutely made for me. Every fitting was warm, professional, and personal. I felt valued, beautiful, and 100% stress-free knowing my dress was in the best hands. Definitely book them—Your wedding day and dress is one of the most important days of your life and you should feel and look beautiful and worry-free to know your dress was the highest of quality!!
Hands down the dream experience at a bridal shop. It was worth going above my extremely tight budget for the chance to get the incredible service from Jenny, Sheryl, and Chandler. Jenny was told about the San Francisco City Hall micros wedding I had been scrambling to get done in 90 days and a tiny budget. I told her I wanted something modern but that fit the gorgeous Beaux Arts architecture. I was thinking baroque, some fairy qualities, but still something that gave modern elegance. SHE DELIVERED! Omg Sheryl knew immediately that Jenny was the stylist for me. Jenny brought out some that hit each request and then one that did a little bit of all of them— that was THE one. I actually cried! I thought maybe I was not the type to cry over my wedding dress and it was ok BUT she knew exactly how to make my dream dress come true! Jenny was funny, friendly, and had killer personal style so I knew I could trust her judgment. Especially when she brought out a long glitter cape to go with my dress. That was it! I was blown away by the suggestion and it really made me feel like a fairy queen in a Lana Del Rey music video. Chandler was so kind and knew exactly how to tailor my dress. She suggested the train buttons to help pin up my train and help me walk during my reception. She also added buttons to hold my cape in place and they were so well hidden I couldn’t find them on the day to pin it on! The dress was the perfect length as I am so short even with my 4 inch heels. She helped during the last appointments and had me do 2 try ons to make sure I was 100% satisfied with fit. Sheryl was so kind and showered with compliments. Genuine comments telling me how well my vision was coming together and she would get so excited seeing my items I was using to style my dress more, like earrings and the pins that held my veil. She also rushed my hard-to-find draped veil in less than a week! Unheard of. I couldn’t even do that on Amazon or Etsy. The price was worth it but it was still so affordable because of the spectacular service, quality of the pieces, and understanding of our vision for the look of the wedding. I will remember their kindness for all eternity and sing their praises to all my friends and family. I went to several cost-effective shops that had me look through magazines and told me it was non-refundable and couldn’t exchange even though I couldn’t see them in person! They were incredibly affordable but I couldn’t commit like that! I also did the Azazie route and ended up canceling the dress since I knew I wasn’t in love and didn’t cry when I tried it on. I will forever be happy to risk an appointment with Sheryl Giles shop and hoping they could have affordable options. They have everything for almost all budgets. They really know how to work with everyone! Come and try on dresses with them— you will not regret it!
A month before my wedding I had completely given up on putting a slit in my dress because 3 other seamstress/alteration shops said they couldn’t BUT Sheryl looked at the dress, took some measurements and said it would be easy and could be done before the wedding. I was beyond thrilled and absolutely LOVED the end product. I cannot thank her enough ❤️ (photos are 1 before her alterations and then all the after)
I should have purchased my wedding gown here. 😢 Brides if you are looking for a dress, pls promise me you will VISIT SHERYL GILES BRIDAL COUTURE FIRST! My story: In the past I’ve always admired this place from a far, wrongly thinking I couldn’t afford anything inside. Well today I was shopping quotes for a wedding dress alteration and happened to walk in and speak with Jacqueline. She was so friendly and welcoming. She promptly got me to one of their dressing rooms. Sheryl came and she was just as friendly and accommodating. She stitched up the back of my corset style dress so perfectly it turns out it didn’t need any alterations outside of shortening the shoulder straps some. You guys I burst into happy tears! Sheryl is an expert and has curated such a beautiful space. Please visit her amazing business. 👰🏽♀️💗🤵🏼♂️🥂
