I recently visited Skin Laundry Midtown after finding them on Instagram and taking advantage of their $50 promotion. My initial experience was great—friendly staff, a calm environment, and I was genuinely happy with my results. I even decided to move forward with a membership, despite being hesitant at first. Because of that positive first impression, I want to be fair and acknowledge that one experience doesn’t always define a location. However, my follow-up visit unfortunately shifted my perspective. I had a scheduled appointment at 9:45 AM and took personal time off work to attend. I communicated in advance that I may be a few minutes late due to traffic, with my ETA initially showing 9:53 AM, but it updated to 9:44 AM. I arrived on time. While walking in from the parking garage, I did not see a follow-up message stating that if I wasn’t on time, I would need to reschedule. When I arrived, I was told my appointment was assumed canceled, which was confusing and frustrating because I never canceled. Although the front desk associate was polite and checked to see if I could still be accommodated, I was ultimately turned away. Given the nature of the Midtown location—where traffic and parking delays are very common—I believe there should be a reasonable grace period. Even a few minutes of flexibility, or the option to wait for a potential opening, would have made a big difference in the overall experience. What made this more disappointing was the feeling that the appointment may have already been released before confirming whether I would actually arrive on time. After taking time off work and making the effort to be there, the experience felt discouraging and a bit embarrassing. That said, I truly appreciated the Buckhead location stepping in to assist me, which speaks positively to the brand overall. Because of my first experience and the support from another location, they were willing to squeeze me in today but I that experience shifted my mood and just recommended coming in Saturday. I am willing to give Skin Laundry another chance—but I likely would not return to this Midtown location for a whileeee.
