Had my 7 month very energetic Golden Retriever puppy boarded here for a few days while I was away. They gave me the peace I needed while being away from him for the first time. They were super supportive and answered back quickly with daily updates. I truly feel they care for your pup like their family. I had a great experience with Isa she was so sweet. Thank you for taking such great care for Yankee 💙
Disappointed by Lack of Observation and Communication - We chose this kennel for our dog's boarding based on its many positive reviews. We were hopeful that the personal attention mentioned by other customers would be a good fit for our slightly anxious husky mix, and we even paid for him to be bathed before we picked him up. Unfortunately, shortly after we got home, I discovered that he had chewed his tail quite severely, leaving a noticeable open wound. I understand that a new environment can be stressful, and I don't blame the kennel for my dog's anxiety. My frustration is with the fact that this was apparently never noticed or, if it was, never communicated to me. Given that we paid for a bath, the wound should have been impossible to miss by anyone handling his tail. I reached out to the kennel to ask if any staff had seen him chewing his tail or had noticed the injury. They told me they would look into it, but that was several days ago, and I have yet to receive a response. While the facility itself seems fine, the lack of basic observation and poor follow-up communication is concerning. We are upset and disappointed to find that what we hoped would be a positive experience ended in us needing to pay for veterinary care for our dog.
Our favorite dog kennel in Austin! We’ve been through a few with our two dogs, but they love this place the most. And we do too! God bless the staff who run it, they are incredible folks who truly love the animals they watch over. Also, this is the only place that my attached schnauzer has NO problems going to. I hand them his leash and he trots off with them without a glance back towards me… It kinda hurts but I know it’s a good sign that means he loves it here hahah The two dogs we board here are two fixed males: one large size, a senior border collie mix- and a younger, medium size mini schnauzer mix. They both get the love and attention they deserve. TLDR: It’s so nice to leave our dogs here and travel without stressing. We know they’re being so well taken care of!!!
Kenneled and groomed my 2 dogs here and had a great experience!! My dogs even got out of the car without trouble when we went back and they ate their food with no problem during their stay, which speaks wonders about the staff here! My eldest dog, my grumpy old man, is a realllly hard dog to groom, but their groomer Jennifer handled him like a champ! So going back for all my kennel and grooming needs. Oh, and there is a lot of land for the dogs to run around on!
I love SkyBlue Kennels. My puppies have the biggest smiles when they are there. It does not matter if it playtime or bath time, Khaleesi and Bombay love being there. I am glad I found a place where my dogs are loved. Julie Jones (owner) is dedicated to making my dogs experience at SkyBlue amazing. Since they have opened, I have boarded, day camped, groomed and done advanced training for my fur babies. Each time they have exceeded my expectations. They take time to talk with you and understand the needs of my dogs and have a great understanding of my dogs needs. Love them. See pictures of happy dogs.
