Jenina is a truly wonderful trainer! She came to our home and was always prompt and attentive. She gave us practical advice, was happy to discuss strategies for issues that we'd been experiencing and provided helpful resources to work with between training sessions. We would 100% recommend Jenina to anyone looking for help with either basic training or special needs (e.g. our baby Max is very reactive with other dogs and was exhibiting resource guarding behavior and we've already seen a huge improvement in only a month or so of working with him using the techniques that Jenina shared).

Jenina is so incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and professional--I would recommend her to anyone who needs help training their puppy or adult dog. We did the 4 session in-home training with our 2-year-old chihuahua/dachshund mix, who is very reactive and not friendly to new people. Jenina taught us and modeled certain commands and then we had the opportunity to try them on and get feedback so we were performing them properly. She was also so calm and patient throughout our sessions. Jenina provided us with helpful handouts to continue training, as it requires daily training on the owners part to ensure the skills are truly learned. We are incredibly grateful for her guidance and knowledge as it has made our dog much more secure and us more confident dog owners.

I completed the group class with my 5month old puppy and truly had an amazing time. Jenina is an excellent teacher and has such a calming presence with the dogs. Not only did I learn the specific behaviors we went over in class but it also taught me the fundamentals for training future behaviors on my own. I had a blast at class and felt it brought me even closer to my new puppy. Would recommend Smart Paws to any dog owner in the area and definitely will be contacting Jenina again when my pup goes through her adolescent phase! Thank you Jenina!

My husband and I just wrapped up a series of in-home training sessions with Jenina and our two dogs, and we were both blown away by what a committed, talented and generous dog trainer she is. We'd hired her to help with our recently-adopted dog Zoey, whose stress-triggered aggression had resulted in a couple of our friends being bitten. Jenina clearly knows what she's doing, having worked in this industry for over two decades. But at least as important, she's also a calming, kind presence, and even Zoey- who's suspicious of all visitors- quickly warmed up to her. My husband and I have a lot of work to do with Zoey, but thanks to Jenina, we have some great exercises to practice with Zoey to build her confidence and decrease her reactivity. Jenina also gave us excellent recommendations for better managing our environment when guests come over to avoid risk of any more bites occurring in the future. We're both starting to feel a lot more hopeful that we can eventually have a more relaxed life with Zoey, as long as we put in the work. It's clear Jenina is in this line of work for the love of dogs and not for the money. Her prices are surprisingly affordable- a big relief given the rapidly escalating costs of pet care in recent years. We really appreciated that rather than trying to sell us another package when we exhausted our first package's sessions, she encouraged us to practice what we've learned for a while, and reach out to her when we're ready for more assistance.
