Had an appointment, called in advance to let them know I was running 4 minutes behind due to a car accident on my street (not their fault, I know). Mary mentioned they only have ONE stylist (on a busy weekend day), and that they schedule appointments every 15 minutes with no grace period, so they would proceed with canceling my appointment. Not only should ‘no grace period’ be mentioned in the website, but the store manager should ensure there are more than ONE hair stylist on site during busy days such as a Saturday.
I booked online for my sons 1st hair cut and I added on the 1st hair cut package since this was a big deal being his first cut. My husband ended up taking him since our son wanted to surprise me with his new look. Well when they got home I was so disappointed in how it came out, along with the fact that apparently their printer wasn't working so we didn't get a photo that was suppose to come along with the $9.99 1st haircut package. You would think since part of the service is not available you'd atleast get a discount but no, my husband ended up paying the full $9.99. Not only was there no photo and the cut not being great, my sons hair is mixed with someone else's hair in the bag that they tape to the certificate (you can clearly see little black hair mixed in with my sons long blond hair in the picture below). I get others get their hair cut there but don't you sweep between customers?.. I find this so gross and a crap of a 1st hair cut service that we paid 10 bucks for. ONE good thing I will mention is that even though the cut wasn't great my husband recorded some of process for me so I could see his reaction and the lady who cut his hair was very sweet and good with him, so there is that and that is why I put 2 stars instead of 1. I dont want to be a negative nancy but It was already a hard decision to cut my sons long hair and this experience did not help with that. I do hope that everyone who does end up going here has a better experience with their child's first hair cut and gets what they pay for.
I've given plenty of good word-of-mouth recommendations for specific stylists at Snip-its over the last 10 years or so, but we will not be returning. People who have stuck with Snip-Its since 2016 or so know that every so often the entire location's staff is fired without notice (to the clients, no idea about the stylists). We patiently wait for the new stylists to get acclimated and then build a new relationship with a new stylist each time. This time, we made an appointment several days in advance and, when we showed for our appointment with the one stylist my sensitive kiddo will let touch his hair, we were greeted by all new staff and told everyone had been let go. We walked out and I took him to my hair stylist for a last minute appointment. We're beyond done with this location. $25 per haircut per 1.5 months? We'll find someone else who can be counted on and trusted for more than a few months at a time.
The only place we go for kids haircuts! Every person I’ve seen here has been amazing with my kids hair. They really know how to handle kids and are never overwhelmed even if the kid doesn’t like getting their hair cut or is moving around a lot. We last had Autumn cut my son’s hair and she was fantastic!
The amount of straight butchered hair I settled for at this place over the years all because I’ve been coming here for over 10 years. I brought my 2 boys as soon as they were 6 months old babies because they had super long hair covering their eyes. I brought my first daughter here for her bangs when she was 2yrs old. Something that I envisioned when dreaming of having a daughter one day, a look she continues to get all on her own now at 8 years old. She says it’s part of her personality and doesn’t want to stop getting bangs. I brought my first child here and he’s 18 years old now. My loyalty to this place was more so sentimental and nostalgic than anything else because the hair cuts got worse each time. I have met countless owners over the years. Anytime I liked a hairdstylist and how well she cut hair, she was never to be seen again. They seem to have a new employee every single time I went. Covid time was the most frustrating trying to book an appointment. After Covid there was always only 2 employees taking clients. This snip its location has not been the same snip it’s that was before Covid. My very last straw was recent when what seem to be a very young girl that I allowed to cut my daughters hair. Right off the bat her hands were shaking, she went in with the scissors at the tip of the hair trying to cut in a straight line. I gave her the benefit of the doubt and told myself I’d let her continue because I should trust the process. She then got to my daughters beloved bangs and she completely ruined my daughters bangs. She cut way back to a line going to my daughter’s ears! I immediately stopped her once I saw how completely inexperienced she was and asked her to get another stylist that knows how to cut bangs. The other stylist questioned her as well but tried her best to fix it but it was too late. The damage was done and she couldn’t salvage the bangs. it’s actually been MONTHS since that haircut and I am still sooooo upset over it. Are they simply hiring anyone without proper experience? Proper schooling?? I am going to attach photos of the tips of my daughter’s hair, to show how BAD and uneven it’s grown out. I told my husband that it was the last time we gave this place our business. My 3 young kids are getting haircuts at Sharkey’s Cuts For Kids in Round Rock, and I have zero complaints. It’s actually so refreshing to leave a haircut place happy with the haircut my boys are getting now. It’s also very friendly for older kids like my 8yr old daughter who gets to get pampered in a tween lounge that comes with a complimentary manicure. It’s completely WORTH the $2 extra difference for a haircut compared to what snip its charges. I waited months to write this review because I was too angry to do so before. If this place doesn’t make a change, I wouldn’t be surprised if they close it down. Don’t be like me, don’t settle for as long as I did, there are better places in round rock.
