Hands down my favorite studio in Seattle. So many wonderful teachers and with each one, you get a completely different vibe, type of class and music selection to fit your mood. They've built a truly unique community of people.
This is honestly the best hot yoga studio I’ve ever been a member of. (And I've moved around a lot and practiced at quite a few excellent studios.) The space is super clean and welcoming, which is pretty standard for local studios, but SOL has this atmosphere of compassionate body awareness that's kind of magical. There’s constant verbal encouragement from the teachers to be kind to yourself, but it never feels like fluff because it's reflected in the way they guide students and the way they speak about themselves and their own practice. I never feel pressured to push beyond my limits or "perform". The classes are still quite athletic, but it's more like an invitation to explore and enjoy moving your body. Some days I just need to stretch, some days I'm nursing an injury (I also dance a lot), and some days I want a serious workout -- I could do any of those in any of the classes I've taken. If you're looking for a place where you can challenge yourself without any external expectations, and also feel completely respected and cared for, this is it.
Before I left the neighborhood I practiced here almost daily. I loved the atmosphere, instructors, and many daily class times. Sol is a great reason to move to Mt Baker/Leschi, especially for summer morning classes on the dock.
Phenomenal space, teachers, community, light, music and heat! This is a wonderful place to not only practice but to meet a lot of great people. I LOVE it here and feel lucky to have found it. It's a special studio with a unique vibe and energy. HIGHLY recommend!
After stepping away from in person studios for a few years, I finally came back to Sol and instantly remembered why I love it here. It’s a really special feeling when all of the instructors genuinely remember you and it feels like catching back up with an old friend. The studio itself (hello, new upstairs space!!) is inviting without any extra frills - it truly is just a beautiful, warm space to practice in. Bonus points for easy parking and great music in every class. I’m so grateful to be back here again and feel more involved in the community.
