The owner Eric is extremely rude and in his attempt to do business with me, despite our advertising stating no pickups, decided to make a rude and incorrect comment about our business, calling us a “middleman” . Meanwhile his entire business is actually him just being a middleman. Just go on Facebook marketplace or to any garage sale and you’ll find everything he sells here and then some. Don’t waste your money on a rude store owner being an actual middleman and up charging.
Great place is a lot of interesting true antiques. Great if restoring because there is a lots of doors, windows, door knobs. Loved all the railroad carts. Wish I wasnt flying because I'd love to convert one into a coffee table! I loved the door as well.
I love this place. It's Antiques beyond just old furniture. This is 3 stories of architectural history. Prices are rarely marked and you have to negotiate individual pieces. Makes for a long transaction process, but it's usually worth it.
We visited Memphis from Michigan and I decided to check out this shop to find some pieces for our mantle/fireplace wall/family room. I am not an expert is antiques by any means, but buy things here and there based on what I like. This store is massive, three floors packed with all sorts of treasures. The store itself is old and interesting before you even start looking at what’s for sale. The owner was great, he took the time to chat with me and explain what things were and where they were from. If you are looking for industrial/architectural antiques, antique fixtures or random interesting pieces, you have to check this place out. If you are restoring an old house or business, I can’t even imagine the fun you would have here.
We came to Memphis from Florida for this place! We spent most of the day here and still ended up keeping the owner after hours. The owner is Eric, and he is not only a wealth of knowledge about each and every piece, he is also a super nice guy! His son was there and helpful also. We purchased a lot of items and we felt the prices were reasonable. More importantly, the items were incredible. So many things you’d never find elsewhere. Cast iron of all kinds, lights, hardware, and so many specialty items that change all the time. It’s true that some things aren’t for sale, but given that they are near and dear to owner’s heart, we understand that need to keep it close till you’re ready to let it go. This is his passion for the work! We have half furnished an entire building with Eric and are already planning to come back for another round in the near future. Highly recommend Eric and his amazing collection at South Front Antiques.
