I love coming here! I work with adults with disabilities and we have had difficulties swimming elsewhere. We love to come here. The staff are so hands on and luckily we have so far had nothing my but positive interactions. We have also taken them to the gym here and it’s been great. This is an older building, so could there be structural changes that would be more helpful yes, but I think they do great with what they have to work with and it’s always being updated.

The pool facility was is good condition for its age and the kids enjoyed the wave pool. Friends who attended with me say it looks decent for being around 40 years ago. Downside, we were a larger group that booked weeks ago and for some reason admin did not communicate our booking with the front desk. They had no idea we were coming which lead to them scrambling and almost lead to them turning us away due to a capacity issue and not enough life guards which I found to be odd. A review of communication protocols is needed to ensure similar mishaps do not occur.

Southland Leisure Centre is a strong, multi-functional rec facility that does very well when it comes to variety and family-friendliness. It may not be pristine or cutting edge everywhere, but for what it offers, water play, slides, fitness, climbing, skating, it’s very good value. If you can go at non peak times, it’s a very enjoyable place. For families, especially with young children, it’s often go with my children. They love slide in there.

Very nice pool — everything is clean and well maintained. The slides work perfectly without any issues. The staff and lifeguards are polite and attentive. We really enjoyed it and have already visited several times this week!
