They were meticulous in their approach, doing each phase of prep work with great care and precision, resulting in a smooth painted finish that looks fantastic. Splash of colour gave us a fantastic service and from my experience as a chartered surveyor and having renovated our home in its entirety I can honestly say the best tradespeople I’ve ever worked with. After many broken promises from other decorators we got in touch with Shaun quickly responded to come and find out about our needs. He set a time, was there a few minutes early and understood quickly what we would like and gave recommendations for how we could achieve the best outcome. A quote arrived on the day as promised through their excellent and easy to use electronic system which allows you to pay a deposit online to secure the booking - final payment of the balance was only due upon finishing to our complete satisfaction. A date to start was agreed and the team arrived when they said they would and got straight to work. Here is where the difference between them and others begins - they proceeded to thoroughly prepare the surfaces for painting and made sure where there were imperfections from earlier trades they were made good. About a third of their time on the job must have been in preparation with their dustless sanding systems, filling, caulking and doing it again between coats of paint until it was as close to perfect as you can get in a 1930s house. Their paint finish was superb and the job only ended when Shaun had snagged it several times to find all imperfections - this undoubtedly added time to their planned programme of works but made all the difference as two weeks and a four year old’s birthday party in between nothing has caught my eye - partly in thanks to Shaun’s recommendation to use a paint that was up to the job of surviving in a family home. The guys at Splash of Colour went above and beyond and finished the job to an excellent standard at the agreed price. This is an award winning painting and decorating company under the watchful eye of Shaun and his Dad who together bring decades of experience and quality systems of work. Safe to say we would love them to come back and do more.
All we can say is that splash of colour that’s Shaun and his dad have done the most exemplary work on our house! The attention to detail and finish is of the highest standard that we’ve not come across before. They are in constant contact regarding arrival times etc. which I’m sorry to say doesn’t happen that often here in Glasgow. We’ve been let down previously, with people not turning up and no notification of this. They are the best and most professional team! And the most heartwarming and nicest of guys! They care that you’re going to get the best finish possible! We love these guys!!!! And we will always work with them in the future!
We were so impressed with the workmanship of Shaun and the team, as well as the communication before and during the job. From quote onwards we were clear that their priority was getting the best finish, with careful prepping and as they are specialists in older properties particularly highlighting the original features in the room. The time spent in preparing the walls and woodwork and the attention to detail made all the difference. I’ve never known another decorator to take such care and it shows in the results. I’m delighted with the work. Will definitely be using them again!
Absolutely fantastic work! Professional, on-time, clean, organised and efficient. Shaun, the son who did most of the work, was truly impressive in terms of his attention to preparation, detail, skill and sheer hard work! The techniques he used has left us with a living room that is immaculate and honestly the best job I've ever seen. On top of that both Shauns, father and son are lovely people and a joy to have around. Can't wait for the next time!
