The competitive teams are amazing, providing instruction for students with a serious interest in dance. There are also large selection of great classes for every level, from beginner to advanced. The adult options are vast as well, including tap!

Step 1 Dance Fitness is truly something special. Every instructor brings their own unique style and energy, and I genuinely love the variety—from hip hop to Latin, pop, Afrobeat, and beyond. Each class feels fresh, fun, and full of good vibes. The diversity in dance styles has pushed me to grow as a dancer in ways I never expected. I can honestly say I've become more confident, more skilled, and more connected to movement since joining this studio. But what really sets Step 1 apart is the community. It's welcoming, inclusive, and just full of joy. Whether you're a beginner or have some experience, there's a place for you here. People cheer each other on, and the vibe is always supportive, never intimidating. I don’t want to sound dramatic, but Step 1 Dance Fitness has truly changed my life. It’s not just a workout—it’s therapy, connection, expression, and fun all rolled into one. I’m so grateful I found this place.

A beautiful dance studio with so much to offer! I actually commented several times on how impressed I was with Step 1. There are several spacious studios with beautiful floors and great sound systems. They offer many genres of classes for adults and kids, some of which are simultaneously live streamed for those who can't make it in person (love that!). I live in Boston and I visited Sacramento for 3 days specifically to take classes at Step 1! I was there for Thursday night Dancehall Power Up with Toya & Saturday morning Zumba with Toya, both of which I've been taking on Zoom for a long time (thank you for offering live stream Step 1!). While I was there I saw several other classes and they all looked great!! As I always mention in my reviews when relevant going here supports a small, local, woman owned business.

My daughter started here a few weeks ago and we love her hip hop class. Unfortunately I decided to do what was advertised as a drop in step class for adults at the same time. I’ve become overweight during Covid and the instructor actually tried to discourage me from doing the class. It was humiliating, but I (ungracefully) got through the class
