When I came to Boise I was looking for rocks. This place has a variety and good quality stones. They also had some jewelry pieces like pendants or loose gems. I think I stumbled into the wrong place tho for the most part, specifically for what I was looking for. But this establishment is high-quality! Some of the gems were pricey, but maybe that's just not what I was looking for. After all, they are a gem shop. I'm more of an old earth bone collector. I could tell they knew what they were doing, they must cut their own gems and place stones in things like necklaces. Quality store in my opinion, if gems are what you're after.
Excellent family owned shop that knows what they are doing!! Their rock yard is excellent to explore, and all of their specimens are top notch. The little frenchies are of course, adorable. 100/10, 7 thumbs up, and my favorite store in boise. Cheers!
Good selection of items. Prices are reasonable. They have a unique gallery, and knowledgeable. Would recommend! Oh and you HAVE to visit their cute dogs! Oh so adorable!
Brought a watch in to get a new battery. The girl at the counter held a conversation on the phone with her fried throughout our entire transaction. Although it was strange, I didn't really care about that. When she called to let me know my watch was ready, she informed me that they didn't know how to set the time and date, so I would have to do it. That was totally fine as well. So when I picked it up, I went to set the time and date by unscrewing the whole thing just drops out. The spline snapped on it somehow. I had just used it 2 days ago when the battery died and it worked fine. There was a different teller in there when I got there and she said they don't even set the date and time. But somehow the seconds had moved. And wasn't possible to move them any more with the spline broke. Long story short they broke my $1200 watch and lied about. Don't trust this establishment.
The lady running the store was very nice and helpful. Excellent selection of loose gems. I had to get a rough garnet since I'm visiting the state. You can also get loose and set star garnets. There are excellent specimens to see, but not all are sale. They will polish and set gems and repair jewelry. Ask to dig around the back though the rough piles. They aren't well organized, but there are some good pieces. The main rough consists of geodes, thunder eggs, plume agate, snakeskin agate, obsidian, and picture jasper. Minimal slabs, but nice ones. The fossil plates, polished labradorite, and agate bookends would make nice gifts.
