Stopped in ABQ trying to climb for the day w/ my kid. They only allow people under 14 to climb on a kiddie boulder or some janky auto-belay (she climbs v4-v6 3x/week). Not mentioned anywhere on their site so I'll mention it here. Front desk claim insurance but also had a workaround for locals. Didn't climb. Full of screaming children jungle gyming. Bummer.

Honestly just a really cool, awesome gym. Mom & Pop owned and operated since ‘97. Same route setter the entire time. I was fortunate enough to find a lead partner as I was passing through and all the routes felt fun and fairly graded. Staff was exceptionally awesome with a special shout out to Sam! 10/10 would come climb here if making my way to Albuquerque at any point in time!

I’m from California and I travel form state to state and try climbing gyms in major cities. Stone Age, was a breath of fresh air. Great parking, Very clean, Big climbing community. I have never seen so many people in one big building climbing. Tags were clearly legible and easy to follow. Bathrooms were clean and the gym offers very unique climbing challenges that only a couple states offer. Gym staff were polite, funny and helpful. Gear sold here is reasonably priced and they carry very unique shirt designs made from a talented local artist. You can tell the owners and staff have a clear mission statement and fully believe in themselves and their community. Lovely Location would revisit if I’m ever in New Mexico. (I visited the location May 9th 2025.)

Wonderful birthday party for 13 yr old granddaughter at StoneAge yesterday. Most of the kids had never climbed. Facilities were very clean and staff (Reece) not only made sure we had everything we needed in the private party room, but also did a great job giving the kids an orientation, safety instructions, making sure everyone knew how to clip in properly, and helping as the afternoon unfolded. Everyone had a blast. I’m sure all the kids will want to come back again!! Thank you StoneAge.

What a great climbing gym. I was passing through on my way to Red Rocks, and stopped in for a workout. Great setting, lots of bouldering and auto belays (for those of us climbing solo), but also lots of great lead routes. I really liked that they separate the warm-up area/beginner area from the lead climbing area. And the workout space is great too!
