A small, quaint gym. Lost among the downtown buildings. Its been years since i came here at 14. It's been here forever and yet still thrives. Marc is a great and caring man who loves health and the ability to share it with others. They have all you will need and doesn't have that regular gym vibe

What a wonderful experience! In town for the day and thought I’d get a lift on. Looked and found Strength and Health. Read the reviews. No matter how great the reviews were it still didn’t do the gym justice. If you want a Westside vibe, blue collar, no holds barred gym for hardcore working out this is the place.

My favorite gym in Bakersfield. Private gyms are the best. You don’t have to worry about keeping your bag in the locker. Never too crowded. Great equipment everything you need. As a competitive body builder I want to be able to work out out with my shirt off and get a pump. Mark the owner understands and is all for it. Mark is a really good dude and we’re lucky to have such a great gym like that in Bakersfield.

It’s my happy place. As soon as you walk in the door, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation or preference, you’re treated like family. There’s only one common goal, self improvement. Started going to this gym with my dad when I was a kid, and I plan on continuing the same traditions with mine here soon. Gym chalk is welcomed there as well!! I love it!!
