We’re so happy we found John for our first dance! As complete beginners, we were nervous, but his friendly and easygoing approach made us feel comfortable right away. He was communicative, patient, and made every lesson something we genuinely looked forward to. We laughed during every session and ended up enjoying the process so much more than we ever expected. We couldn’t recommend him more!!

My husband and I cannot recommend John and StudioDNA enough! He was recommended to us by a friend of mine, and it is one of the best decisions we made during our wedding planning. To begin, his rates are fantastic- we opted for the 4-week class and were so glad we did. In all the chaos of wedding planning, John's studio was a welcome break each week. My husband and I turned it into date night, and John was full of suggestions for phenomenal local restaurants for us to try. On to the dancing portion- we immediately felt at ease with John, even my husband who has no dance experience. We felt beyond prepared by the time we left after our fourth session. Our dance felt sentimental and sweet, and John was so patient walking us through some of the more complex steps. On the day of our wedding, when we snuck in a quick practice session, we realized my dress was getting in the way of one of the basic steps we learned, but instead of panicking, thanks to John's thorough teaching, we substituted other steps we had learned to ensure the dance was exactly what we wanted it to be. We received glowing reviews from everyone in attendance- with many remarking how impressed they were that we used the entire dance floor and how fluid the dance was. We cannot thank John or recommend his business enough!

John at StudioDNA is truly one of a kind. He choreographed our wedding dance and made the entire experience unforgettable. We had so much fun with him — every lesson was filled with laughter, encouragement, and genuine joy. He’s not only incredibly talented, but also an incredible human being who immediately made us feel comfortable and at home in his studio. I came in anxious about learning to dance, and John kept me calm, confident, and excited every step of the way. We couldn’t have asked for a better teacher or a better experience. If you’re considering a wedding dance, or any dance, go see John — you’ll love him as much as we did!

We had a fantastic experience working with John Dawson at Studio DNA for our Wedding First Dance. You can tell he has a passion for Dance and the joy it can bring people during special events and everyday life. He made the process feel so natural and made each lesson a fun night out for us! We were really happy with how our dance turned out and had a great time putting it together with John. We highly recommend him for a great dancing experience regardless of the end goal.

John was the first dance instructor I have ever been to as my husband and I prepared for our wedding. John made us feel very comfortable and offered a great deal to do private lessons. He worked with both of us to make sure our dance was great on our wedding day, he shared notes and videos so we could continue to practice. The dance was a hit at our wedding reception among the guests and it really is thanks to John and his support. Very happy with how it turned out and will be planning more lessons for our 1 year anniversary! Thank you John for creating a comfortable and safe space for me and Ryan!
