We worked with Sam and Lydia to restore my grandmother's antique table and they did an absolutely amazing job. Sam is truly an expert craftsman. The table itself was beautiful before but not very functional (it used to have casters which had been lost a long time ago and was too short to comfortably sit under without them). We wanted to make the table more functional while also maintaining its integrity. When we brought the table for an estimate we were immediately impressed by Sam and Lydia's passion and attention to detail. We needed to make the table top larger and increase the height; Sam disassembled the table, reinforced it and created an entirely new border that matches the original border exactly. The new border is made from solid wood but Sam was able to patina it to match the tiles (he was even able to re-create one of the knots which is indistinguishable from the original!). The end result came out perfectly, Sam's process ensured that the table retained it's original character and we are thrilled with the final product.
I brought my grandmother’s beautiful end table to Sully Restoration for repair. It’s one of a pair and had been out of commission for a while because one of its legs had ripped away and detached from the center of the table. Lydia and her husband, Samuel, assessed the damage at their workshop (I believe they can also assess from photos if needed). The turnaround time was about two weeks—including a holiday—which felt impressively quick. The result is absolutely stunning. The table stands perfectly again, and they added a wax finish that brings out the wood’s natural shine. Now I need to bring in the second end table for some TLC because it looks a little dull in comparison! Thank you, Lydia and Samuel, for your hard work and the care you put into each piece. I highly recommend Sully Restoration for all your furniture needs.
I cannot recommend Samuel and Lydia enough! The work is incredible and breathtaking. They have now completed two beautiful projects for me that I thought were hopeless. I would be surprised if anyone could find a better, more professional restorer.
The level of craftsmanship and care that Sam gives to his work cannot be surpassed. We presented him with an extremely challenging restoration and the result is extraordinary. Our ancient Asian cabinet is now back together and strong. The cracks, shattered pieces and holes are fixed and the hardware replaced, all of which look original. Amazing.
Samuel and Lydia are unsurpassed! Samuel restored a very badly damaged Bagatelle table for me, even remaking the cups that hold the little balls and other numerous details. The wait was worth every penny. I loved that Lydia kept me informed of the progress. Believe me, you won’t be disappointed.
