Ate here with my wife and decided to try the Sumo Deluxe, honestly one of the best meals we've had in a while. Everything came out hot and fresh. It's so flavorful and well balanced. The place was clean, the staff were friendly and quick even though they were a bit busy.. We will definitely come back .

I stumbled upon this spot through google search and it did NOT disappoint! Definitely a must try! I got the Sumo Deluxe (Hibachi Combonation) and they ask you how you want your steak cooked! We also tried their Chicken Lo Mein and it’s honestly some of the best we’ve had here in town!

TLDR Impression: This place feels overpriced, unfocused, overstimulating, and low-effort. S.H.E seems to rely on surface appeal, portion size, and heavy oil rather than actual cooking quality or care. Will absolutely NOT be returning. - I ate here with my family a few days ago for a celebration dinner. I ordered lo mein with a strawberry fruit tea and strawberry popping boba. The rest of my family got hibachi steak over rice. I purposely chose what I thought would be the safest, easiest options since it was my first time here. I didn’t want to risk wasting money on something experimental. I was impressed… by how unimpressed I was. - Lo Mein The lo mein was about 70% grease, 30% noodle. Half joke, but not by much. I don't think I've ever had such a greasy dish in my life. More seriously, the flavor was okay, but the amount of grease was overwhelming. It felt heavy and unpleasant to eat. The vegetables were actually decent, but the meat was low quality and often gristly. I found myself avoiding pieces because of the texture. The noodles themselves weren’t terrible tasting, but I regret eating them. I’m writing this after finishing the leftovers, and I feel just as “blah” as I did after the initial visit. My tummy is currently filing a second complaint with HR. If I hadn’t paid about $19, including the drink, I probably would have thrown it out. For context on how greasy this was, the oil soaked through the styrofoam container, into the plastic bag, and was still excessively greasy even after blotting. I genuinely wish I had taken pictures because my words don’t fully capture it. - Strawberry Fruit Tea + Popping Boba The drink was flat. Very mid. Honestly, the best part was the popping boba, which is kind of wild considering how easy this drink should be to get right. - Hibachi Steak (sampled) The steak I tried from my family’s plates was chewy, gristly, and not very flavorful. It did not live up to the praise it was getting at the table. - Portion Size One positive, the portions are large. You definitely get a lot of food. That said, portion size does not make up for poor quality. - Atmosphere and Environment This place was loud, chaotic, and overstimulating. Full transparency, I was already a bit tired when I went, so take that into account. Even then, it was a lot. If you are sensitive to noise or easily overwhelmed, I would strongly recommend bringing headphones and trying to sit somewhere quieter if possible. Or do takeout. - Menu and Service The menu is extremely large and unfocused, to the point where it was overwhelming just trying to order. The staff came off as impatient and somewhat dismissive while I was taking time to read through it. Not a great first impression. To be fair, service alone does not make or break a place, but when the food does not carry the experience either, it becomes much more noticeable. - Theme and Overall Vibe The restaurant leans heavily into a generalized “Japan aesthetic” with sumo imagery, a lucky cat, and decorative wall art, but it felt more surface-level than intentional. I want to be respectful here since this is not my culture, but it came across as more “theme park” than thoughtfully put together. That may just be my perception, but it contributed to the overall feeling that presentation was prioritized over substance. - Final Thoughts This place feels like it is built around: - large portions - visual appeal - heavy oil rather than balance, quality, or care. You can have mediocre service if the food makes up for it. This is not one of those cases. - Verdict I gave it a fair shot across multiple items and even revisited it through leftovers. It did not improve. I will not be returning.
