I’m really upset about my last experience here. I came here for the first time ever around May of this year and the quality was amazing! I even made a video about this place to rave about the attention to detail of each nigiri and just overall experience. It is on the pricer side so we decided to go back on a special occasion. We took a friend who was visiting here last Sunday and the quality of the fish was nothing like how it was on our other visit. Even with the quality bad they just didn’t seem to care about the overall presentation of the fish and didn’t care to take there time with each piece like last time. And not to mention the most important part. The rice that goes under the nigiri was hard. :/ It was like they used old rice and warmed it up. I really love nigiri and the rice being warm and soft is VERY important. Also they give you one small little side of ginger. I just had high expectations because it was so amazing the first couple of times but something has gone wrong here. Not sure if it’s new cook or staff or just winter season effort but I don’t think we will come back here. The first picture is from this previous time and the second one is from the first time we visited back in May.

Everything was awesome about this place, the food, the interior design, the service, and the fact that they haven't gone to the moon with their prices. I'll definitely be coming back here. Our server John was very nice which I appreciate. Sushi Ya is at the top of list of my favorites. The takoyaki wasn't bad either

I have eaten a lot of sushi in my life. Sushi Ya was one of the best. The food was phenomenal. If you like spicy, I highly recommend the Crazy Devil Roll! The prices are reasonable and the service was great. I highly recommend this place!

The food and atmosphere were excellent, but the service was appalling. The waitress deliberately tried to scam me by denying that the tip was already included in the total bill — even though it clearly was. Had my friends not stepped in and pointed it out, I would have paid extra. This is outright dishonesty and completely unacceptable. I’m leaving this one-star review to hold her accountable and to warn others about this kind of unethical behavior.
