Update: Tried again when not right at opening but still at lunch time and had a better experience. It still took a long time to get food for our party who didn’t get buffet but it wasn’t to an extreme. Everyone enjoyed the food and atmosphere. I believe the train is up and running although we did not sit in those booths this time. Note any review older than the end of 2025 on are from the old business prior to update and adding a restaurant. The restaurant atmosphere: The train was not yet up and running yet as of today—Nov 4, 2025. They said it will be soon. The furniture, walls, and all are fresh and new! The lights are brutal if you are light sensitive like myself. They are LED lights that are quite bright and there are a lot of them. We didn’t do the arcade but it looked nice. Our service experience: They open at 11:00 for lunch so we went there at 11:00. They encourage the buffet but when we went back to look at it, it was just a small salad bar and no pizza had been put out yet. We decided to order a pizza instead and waited for 25 minutes and they said it was going to be a while longer so we just asked them to put it out on the buffet since we couldn’t wait any longer. My recommendation to them is to have the buffet complete with pizza and salad before the doors open at 11 so you can focus on new orders rather than still be scrambling to open a buffet when that should have already been ready. We will have to try again another time.
Tried the pizza buffet and salad bar. Good, friendly service. Good variety of pizza. But toppings were all chopped into tiny 1/8" pieces, including meats, vegs. No chunks. Similar to frozen Totinos, only dry. Needed more sauce or evoo, more cheese. Slices were cut into 2" pie-shaped, like they were only offering samples to taste. Good salad bar, but the serving utensils were small tongs intended for ice cubes. Needed spoons for chopped egg, shredded cheese, small vegs, etc. Not very practical when people are waiting in line behind you. Dressings were not labeled.
Dine in review: Very friendly and attentive waitresses, but there are some "institutional" problems that need ironed out. Fountain drinks arrive within 2 minutes, but if someone orders a bottle of beer, expect to wait 15+ minutes for its arrival. Waitresses are 19, they can't bring it. You must wait for barmaids to get to you. Pizzas were kind of crisp on the bottom, but shock white on top. Cheese just barely melted. The kitchen manager came out and explained that the pizza oven has a conveyor belt and maybe something needs adjusted. Again, very friendly and attentive, trying to help. But the pizza should be "golden brown" on top. She took our pizzas back and put them back in the oven. Still not brown. There should be someone on staff who can fix broken games or put an "out of order" sign on them. We have always enjoyed playing putt-putt indoors and out. This time, none of the outdoor putt-putt features were operating.
My coworkers and I had a very negative experience here today, we will not be back and will be telling our friends and families to take their business elsewhere. My coworkers and I love supporting small businesses in Corydon and we planned a small baby shower with the girls in our office here today. We coordinated with an employee and were told that since our party consisted of only 10 people there was no need to call ahead or make any type of reservation for the party room prior. When we got there today we were told by a separate employee that it was fine if we pulled tables together for our party and that we could use another table for gifts and cake. As we were setting up, a man, who I have now learned is the owner Dave Coburn, came up to me and my 2 coworkers that were setting things up and told us very rudely this isn’t going to work and that we should have called ahead to coordinate this because lunch is his busy time and his servers work off tips, which is a completely understandable thing to say, but the way in which we were talked to left a bad taste in all of our mouths. Dave was very condescending to all of us and told us that we can’t be there for long ( which we weren’t planning on, we were on our lunch break) and that we needed to make sure we clean up after ourselves, as if we were children. Keep in mind he is saying this in a loud tone in front of all of his employees, who acted extremely embarrassed about his behavior. All while talking to 3 women like this, Dave was wearing a Jesus hat and T-shirt, I don’t think the tone he used was very Christian of him. Unfortunately, we already had the other 7 girls on their way over or we would have left. Due to this interaction we quickly ate our food and left. We still had a great baby shower at our office but it made us all wonder how Dave treats the families that bring their kids in to play putt-putt and arcade games, does he tell them that they cant hold up a table while their kids go play? I think that Dave is in the wrong line of work if he treats paying customers like this. P.S. The staff as a whole was amazing and accommodating, but I cannot support a business with an owner that treats customers this way.
We visited the newly renovated Swing and Slice on Saturday for their grand opening!! The renovations they have made are phenomenal! The décor was so modern and the place was so clean! Service was A+ with super friendly staff! The pizza was great! Our son spent a little time in the arcade and had a good time! We can't wait to go back to try out the indoor and outdoor mini golf!
